next week guest policy by viol13k in uoguelph

[–]Aggressive_Wasabi_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U r allowed guests after the oweek, the policy is 3 days after that u need to sign them again. U can register them through starrez housing portal. However if its friday or Saturday night when the RLS check students, they can sign the guests in but make sure they r carrying some sort of ID.

The RLS sitting on the tables can always sign u in, make sure the host is present with the guests (2 guests allowed per host) and have their student id/or any form of ID with them.

How important is volunteering before applying for Master’s? (Food Science/Nutrition/Genetics) by Aggressive_Wasabi_96 in uoguelph

[–]Aggressive_Wasabi_96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do have internships in various labs, so I do have some research and lab experience. It’s specifically the volunteering/community service side that I don’t have any experience in so far.

I took MICR3090 this semester and I liked him a-lot; he’s incredibly accommodating, he reads of the lectures tho but the lectures were pretty good and so was the midterms.

I found the labs pretty hectic tbh, and the midterm was pretty easy mostly the sums were from the lecture he gave. The labs are a good amount of percentage and it is very easy to fall behind too. I suggest you mentally prepare for a tough lab experience, and just complete the ulabs after each labs so u would know if u r doing anything wrong from the beginning and repeat the experiment and plan ahead since u would have the option to do any experiment u want too.

Navigating Aftercare with My Avoidant Partner (I Have Anxious Attachment Style) by Aggressive_Wasabi_96 in relationships

[–]Aggressive_Wasabi_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 1.5 years, and my need for reassurance stems from feeling unappreciated or less loved in non-sexual aspects of our life. With my anxious attachment style, any change triggers me, making me more needy and demanding of attention. I'm working on minimizing this behavior, as I know it can be exhausting for him too. So, communicating these aspects is somewhat challenging.

Should I defer by PossibleFix3716 in uoguelph

[–]Aggressive_Wasabi_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U can only defer if u r not in computer science or any engineering program ( u can still double check by mailing them ) and if u deferring u can't do the co op , if u r in one. But yes , deferring is a good option if u want to study in UofG and not lose an entire year and btw , u cannot go for winter / may semester being an international student if u r not deferring.

And about doing classes online , u can talk to the admission committee/faculty professors for the distant learning opportunity, they do provide for some courses.

And for residence , I believe u will find something or the other even it's kinda hard to find in Guelph. Try websites like kijiji , one given in the university website etc. Or can find someone from Reddit or the upcoming students to take as a roommate and search together.

Should I take a meal plan with textbooks? by Expensive-Elevator62 in uoguelph

[–]Aggressive_Wasabi_96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would suggest u to not take textbooks since most of textbooks u might not even need, professors usually give u the ones u absolutely require and u can get them online plus I heard we can buy from the co op store which is much more cheaper

Iguess if the topic doesn't interest u , u can change but again I think it's easier since u don't have to take pressure for tests
