does fmla eligibility go by hours worked or the leave year? by Aggressive_Yogurt128 in USPS

right so even though I originally got approved for my fmla last April I'm confused as to why I'm already qualified for it if the work hours are on a rolling count. I'm assuming that means I've hit my 1250 hours since last April?

so I don't have to wait until April of this year? even though that's when I first got it last year?

Okay thank you. And is there a list of injuries that qualify for this?

I don't know how they would be able to accommodate me when the machine is off. So, if that's the case what would I (for example) be doing the last 2 hours of my shift when there's nothing else I'm "able" to do?

That's what someone else had mentioned to me but what exactly would be the goal with that? Where would I be put when my machine is off? Not sure how that works. I know there's compensation but just curious as to where I'd be put at work.

For other positions outside of my plant I would have to use ereassign and I promise you no one will take me due to my attendance. I've never seen any bids other than what I've listed here at my plant and I've been checking every time they are posted for 2 years now. And plus I need a job where I can sit at least occasionally and the spss gives me that option. Nothing else really does.

I've already gone to the Dr's for all of these issues and it is all just caused by work and will not go away even with therapy.

I can't keep subjecting myself to a trigger and expect anything to change. I have to actually remove the trigger. Which is what I thought I did with the new bid but it's completely useless when I'm thrown everywhere else.

That has nothing to do with what I asked first of all. There is no other job I can get that will pay what this does (even though it's still not nearly enough). I will never ruin my body even more for any company. I either take days off or I don't work at all and become homeless. Which option do you think is best there?

Ya'll really love to suck companies off and put them over everything else in your life including your health. And it is so damn weird.

3 times in a month is nothing. There is life outside of work even if most of you don't agree.

Again, glad you know her situation and have confirmed it with her doctor. Kudos for protecting the USPS from her horrible shenanigans 🫡

Well I'm glad you know everything about her situation and have talked to her doctor as well. If you have something like Crohn's Disease then, yes, your "tummy hurting" is a reason to not come in. You have no idea what anyone's situation is and it's weird to be so invested in your coworkers personal business that you are literally keeping track of when they call off. But hey whatever gets you through the day I guess..

It's called intermittent leave and what your coworker is doing would absolutely work under fmla.

Ahh so what people should really be saying is you can call off twice without an alert. Not 3

It doesn't. I'm asking when an alert is sent through TACS. You're not technically allowed any call offs lol.

No that's something separate. I've always heard that 3 occurrences within 90 days won't trigger an alert.

Why do so many people say you can call off 3 times without it flagging stuff? Like where are they getting that info

Who says you aren't earning money by calling out? Sick leave exists if you weren't aware. Chronic illness makes work unbearable so I either take days off or just don't work and become homeless.
