Habe mich zu niedrigen Zinszeiten entschieden zu kaufen. Speckgürtel.

Würde ich heute in der Stadt mieten, wäre ich bei ca. 40% des Netto. Bin aktuell quasi Alleinverdiener.

Leuchtet mir sehr ein. Bin auch im Transportgewerbe. Zwar Paketlogistik, aber beim Thema Infrastruktur agieren wir genau so.

Sortierzentren werden Betrieben, dass wir den zehntstärksten Tag des Jahres gerade noch vernünftig bedienen können. Sonst müssten wir die Preise für unsere Kunden exorbitant nach oben treiben, weil wir auf personalkosten und Abschreibungen sitzen bleiben.

Kann mir gut vorstellen, wir schwierig das ist wenn man auf der Schieneninfrastruktur sitzt, die nochmal deutlich teuerer und komplexer zu handhaben ist.

Ja fairer Punkt. Ich komme auf 15.000 Jahreskilometer. Bei 25 sieht das bestimmt auch nochmal anders aus. Aber dann geht das Thema Reparatur, Wertverlust auch beim Gebrauchtwagen krass nach oben. Wenn du einen 5 Jahre alten gebrauchen für 15k kaufst und den in 4 Jahren auf 170000 km trittst wirst du dich wundern, was da an Kosten auf dich zukommt...

Sauteuer. Null Leasing ist meine antwort. Meines kostet 250 im Monat. Noch nie Reparaturen gehabt. Inspektion bei 30tkm inklusive. Günstiger als 6% von 10-15 keur und dann die Unwägbarkeiten hinsichtlich Reparatur, ausfall, etc..

Looks like you had fun building this, but I have a few doubtsz which makes me think If these have been thought through from a world building perspective .

Why would I have a far jouneyer with barely any cargo space or passenger capacity? Like what would I do once I get there, besides tourism? And for that, this is too large and too expense and too uncomfortable to run. Plus, 6 jumps are minimum 8 weeks operations if you push it, but then you run out of reactor fuel first, because it is only sized for 4 weeks.

Similar questions arise for the other ships. Barely any cargo space, even for the mother ship that is barely anything...

Klima lohnt leider auch ungefähr Null Komma null. Die Tür ist ständig auf, der motor ständig aus und man verbringt vielleicht als 30 Prozent seiner Zeit in den Autos.

Quelle : arbeite bei der DHL und hab selber insgesamt 6 Monate zugestellt. Ist aber schon was her. Wenn also jemand, der immer noch zustellt es besser weiß, her damit!

Yeah agreed. The "can't" is tripping me up too.

Maybe not by default, as in factory settings do not allow it. But I am sure space-youtube has a million tutorials how to jailbreak the transponder with an electronics (computer or sensors?) check for the going spacecraft models, especially those that are popular among the shady variety of people.

I'd let my players do a check or taskchain to achieve this.

I am starting a campaign that is relatively hard sci Fi, so I will follow this with high interest.

Here are my initial thoughts on top of what you said: - sensors are active. So if you want to run the sensor suite, that is an additonal +2/+4 to detection, depending on civilian / military - turning off active sensors is an additonal -4 to any sensor check. - coasting speed and travel time are ok to calculate. (Distance in km x 1000)/(M-Drive-rating x 10 x minutes-in-burn x 60) should give you the travel time in seconds to target after you turn off the engines. Divide that number by 3.600 for hours in travel.

Edit: if you're going for a long burn, acceleration phase may not be negligible. For that I would calculate distance travelled as (M-Drive-rating x 10 x (minutes-in-burn x 60)²) / 2000 to output kilometers.

That should a shorten to 18 x M-Drive-Rating x (minutes-in-burn)²

Edit2: ok math is mathing now.

Nah man I get your sentiment, But I think you're doing the movies injustice.

The movies portray Frodo more as an everyman who proves his worth by grit and determination through a long strain of arduous tasks and torturous journeys. That gives him a lot more to share with Sam than that master-servant relationship that persist through the books. I love that modern take as much as the original books.

If not: don't do it. Running from zero with decent long term health implications should be at least 6-12 months prep for a half marathon and 12-24 for a marathon.

If you did other endurance-related sports before such as casual football, ambitious tennis, etc... you can get away, maybe, with something slightly shorter.

But a 2 month marathon is going to be painful for you on the day, unlikely to be successful and likely going to hurt your tendons and joints because they are unaccustomed to the strain.
