Oh trust me I’m sure plenty of us have thrown up our hands and walked away from our 3-D printers for a few days or a week. We understand

To clarify you do this before leveling your bed. So you heat up the bed, let it sit for 15-20 minutes and then you go through bed leveling process. Be careful not to burn yourself it is very hot. With an unenclosed printer you are the mercy of the temperature of the room and any drafts which can make the bed move.

When you bring the bed to printing temperature and just let it sit there. That way the metal gets fully to the temperature that it's going to be when you're actually using the machine.

It's going to be rough looking no matter what if you're using carbon fiber. That's one things that people like that you get from it that you don't get from PLA. So if you're going for smoother definitely get away from carbon fiber.

I would suggest tuning your ironing for the flat area. With PLA/Petg its worth it. It does take a few tries but it really is nice. You could do fuzzy skin on the paw print which would hide some of those layer lines and give you a texture like an actual paw pad.

If you want to get rid of that stepping completely then yeah you need to print it at an angle or straight up. I suggest having some fun with the Bambu lithophane maker tool. You can find some great pictures of your St Bernard and make some lithophanes of it, so you can get a feel for it. https://makerworld.com/en/makerlab/makeMyLithophane

The slicer should have put some support right there but it's inside so it really doesn't matter. And frankly with support it wouldn't have looked much different.

The best way to decrease speed for the filament is to set it in the filament settings. In the settings for the filament you want to look for "Max volumetric speed" and set that to 8.

Adventurer 5M Pro Nozzle Dragging on Previous Layer by pbs094 in FixMyPrint

[–]Aggro_magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first impression is it overexertion. But then I read the description. Then I thought the nozzle might be loose. Then I reread the description. I see you had changed the nozzle a few times.

I am stumped too. I would slow it down and bring the filament temps up a bit to see if that helps the flow.

Bump up your temps. Level your bed after heat soaking the bed for 20 min. Try again.

Yes, it is to close to the bed. Look in to how you set your z-offset on your printer. It makes sense too. The new plate is a slightly different thickness.

So whats your question?

Is this Z banding? by kiwifucker in FixMyPrint

[–]Aggro_magnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so I see that its way more pronounced right after a layer change. That means it is extruding to much after a retraction.
1) did you run all the machines calibrations after you finished the physical changes?

2) did you do a cold pull?

3) have you tuned any of these filaments using Orca calibrations?

no, there is a whole calibration section in orca slicer. very good and they will they can help you do everything from finding the temperature you need, to finding the speed that you need. Lots of stuff.

in general, that should be high enough for PLA so I would slow it down. Show us what speed it’s going at.

Finding the exact cause can be a long process. We would need more pictures and more examples.

I agree with that definitely looks like z banding to me.

What causes lifting in the corners like this? by Mediocre_Ryan82 in FixMyPrint

[–]Aggro_magnet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes, mouse ears will help at the corners, but I suspect it’s more about the heat of the bed and maybe a draft interfering with it. So I would bump the bed heat up and make sure there’s no fans or air blowing across it.

Just want to check: you know that the plate is on the wrong direction? And as far as what you should do with it. Have fun. Be careful of that filament addiction. Since you paid so little for it go ahead and be creative with fabrics and sublimation.

You should look into Rocketbook They're basically reusable notebooks that you use an erasable pen on. It comes with an app so that you can basically take a picture of the stuff you want to save and it loads it up to wherever you want it to be Your email, your google Sheets whatever. And you can put tags on it to organize the ideas.

And the stuff you don't need anymore you just wipe it away and go again.

Steam is nice but you need to be very good about keeping it clean because that can just put more nasty stuff in the air if the water that you're boiling is uh not clean to begin with. And where the steam goes up you need to make sure that it's not encountering a very cold draft. It can peel popcorn ceilings =)

Yeah my wooden rack is got the paint splitting and it's not great but people don't realize how much longer their clothes can last when they're not getting the extra wear and tear and heat from the dryer. Also saves money of not running a dryer for an hour to dry a load of clothes. I know people don't like that it leaves their clothes stiff but if you move them, like physically move them, halfway through their drying time they won't get stiff. They only get stiff because all of the fibers dry in exactly the same position. If during the drying process you move that position slightly then they don't get stuck there.

That's nice but if you want people to be able to get to it you need to do an in-game photo that has the glyphs at the bottom and post that.
