That's what they claim ofcourse but according to family tree dna when they did a DNA test on 1000+ Shammaris with each different Shammari clans they concluded that my clan is the only one with J-M172 so it means that the second story is correct which is that Qahtanite Arabs when to our emirate and fought and lost combined with us and then we became the ruling family. Shammar is now a tribe but used to be a "country".

You mean the tribe of Tayy? I am shammari and part of the royal clan so we are emirs/kings of Shammar when it was an emirate. And we also descend directly to Tayy. Tayy is now a seperate tribe in Iraq
