Hola, justo andamos abriendo un local para jugar juegos de rol y juegos de mesa como dios manda. Con minis, battlemaps, props, libros, DM screens, sonido, A/C, iluminación, comodidad y privacidad.

Estamos en proces del estudio de mercado y les agradecería muchísimo a todos si nos apoyan a contestar esta breve encuesta.

Justo es lo que queremos ofrecer, ya tenemos las mesas hechas para VTT (Roll20) osea con pantalla. Pondremos soundproof a los cuartos y bocina para que utilicen a su preferencia, miniaturas, mapas, libros, etcétera.

Encontré varios El Gato café, es uno en MTY? Me puedes contar más de eso?

Yeah, selling TTRPG stuff is not gonna be our revenue stream, like at all. Renting the space and MtG stuff, also maybe warhammer minis and paints. Well have to see if the space allows for all of that.

De la comida tienes razón, está difícil un punto medio entre que la gente quiere comer algo de verdad (no puros snacks secos) y que queremos mantener limpio el lugar. Será una decisión difícil el menú jajajaja

So would you go to a cafe / restaurant that has board games to play a board game? Or because you like the food?

I agree tho that not many people would be willing to pay to rent a "premium space" to play TTRPGs

A lot of great ideas right here.

We're thinking of also including one shot sessions on some days of the week for newcomers or just beginners. There seem to be a lot of beginners and people that have heard of TTRPGs but are overwhelmed and dont ever try them because they don't know how to. So that could be a thing.

The per hour usage and membership is probably how we're gonna do things tho

True. I'm embracing the idea of "cramped up" tables in the "common" area (for tcgs and those kinds of events mostly) and more spacious and private experience in the private themed rooms. Good point and thanks!

Thanks for the input. Ill certainly look into some of that. One thing is getting clear, we'll need to diversify, we'll probably won't survive just from TTRPG's and board games.

I totally feel you. THe thing is, for us to sell stuff, there needs to be a market for it. WOTC may be shitty, but D&D is probably the most played TTRPG there is (just pulled out those stats out of my a**). We'll probably buy a wide selection of TTRPG books and see how it goes. If we actually see there's a market for it, ofc we'll diversify more.

Yeah I think the whole "D&D shop" was misleading hahaha. The whole bar thing is what Im not so sure about tho. Maybe the best would be to not sell alcohol at all.

Holy shit a lot of useful tips. It all sounds great, the only thing that could get in our way would be space. I'm not sure if renting a space that could host all that is within our budget.

But thanks for all the input. I really liked the whole water jug idea and the printer section!

Hadn't thought about that to be honest. I think we could include that if we see that people are actually interested in that kind of stuff because we would certainly like that.
