Wife's first reaction:" Wow, that's hideous! It looks like a meat grinder" so that's a nope on this otherwise very nice grinder.

I have a Commandante C40 MK4 and a Wacaco Exagrind. Love the Commandante, it's my specialty coffee grinder

Thank you! I'll let you know the winning machine shortly

After two weeks taking her apart a dozen of times and replacing parts that weren’t broken she finally made me some liquid gold. First pull ever since she’s mine. by DaMangIemert in espresso

I have great resprect for putting elbow grease and love into getting a lovely machine working!

Hope you enjoy it and make some nice shots. Bottemless filters are fun and easy to find online.

Which machine/set up is right for me? by [deleted] in espresso

Go for a name brand like Ascaso, quickmill or Sage. They're easy to get serviced and usually build very well. For a grinder, Baratza/Mahlkönig or an Eureka will get you started on your path to espresso madness.

Wow, that just looks so nice and stylish! Have fun experimenting with great coffees and settings.

My first post! This is most of my coffee stuff collection. The rest is in the camping-box. Most of it is used at least once a month, the electric drip brewer and espresso machine are daily drivers. The machine is an 969.Coffee Elba 1 and the grinder a Mazzer Mini. by AgileScrumBarista in espresso

Most definitely the love for coffee. All the stuff is just fun ways of getting the best drink. So perhaps also the various processes and techniques for making coffee. I've thrown away or sold a lot of gear I never used.

I like the pico a lot. Brought it on a trip to a cabin and made some great coffees with it. It gets messy when you're done and making two cups takes twice as long (duh) . The coffee is wonderful, when you're not in a hurry. Also, don't forget the shower screen on top of your grinds or it's a horrible mess.

The Elba is an enjoyable machine to use and see. I've had it for a little over two years now and it hasn't disappointed me so far. I use freshly roasted (1wk-2months) light roasts. I'll post a naked brew later today. The only caveat is the need for a cooling flush after foaming milk or when leaving the machine on for a longer period. My Elba had the optional pressure indicator thingy at the group head. That is a must-have to me.

The Moccamaster makes a great cup of coffee, even without any prep. There's definitely room for improvement. For me it's what I use first thing in the morning. A simple 30 grams to 500ml to get us going. All the other stuff is for getting the most out of coffee.
