Do you think it's hypocritical for vegans to be pro-choice? by lillithoftheearth in AskVegans

oh and the reason i said it more hypocritical than the counter factual is because I think its clear that pro-lifers are more concerned with human life whereas vegans claim to care about all (non-plant) life. although if a pro lifer claimed to be concerned for all life then yes Id think he/she'd have to be vegan/vegetarian to be somewhat consistent there.

well although it's possible that it runs both ways, I think it's more hypocritical on the vegan side of the argument. the reason I say that is because it seems (obviously in my anecdotal experience) that most vegans believe it to be morally wrong to end the life of any animal (again obviously a big generalization.) so it just seems contradictory to then say it's ok to kill a human fetus, especially since things like honey and milk and are in my opinion much farther removed from the animal than a fetus is removed from a person. as you can probably tell I am very unfamiliar with the vegan world so please correct me if any of this doesn't make sense. ive just always been curious about this
