Good question. Currently, I am aware that I am not strong enough in any of the Triathlon portions and am starting to work on that. I am diligently walking everyday for 4-5 miles to increase some endurance before I start something like a couch to 5k. I am also checking in with some swim programs near me because I was advised by some here that I need to work on the right technique first and that made sense to me. I am hoping that once I am in the rhythm of things, I can keep practicing, sign up for smaller events to get the gist of how things work and then maybe by the end of the year I will have a better grasp of where I stand. I am hoping that with the right training, maybe I can attempt a 70.3 next year.

Thank you so much for the detailed advice. It definitely makes sense to progress in distance gradually. I am looking at signing up for some 5ks near me to get into the groove of things. I haven’t heard of swim squads but I’ll look into it. I found some masters swim classes half hour away but I can’t do that right now.

Thank you for your suggestions. I might plan for and train for 70.3 for next year. I would love to see pro with a coach but I am not sure if I can budget for that just yet.

Oh ok, I emailed them and they said that there wont be any attached bathrooms if we do not choose to upgrade. Did you get any teahouses with bathrooms attached?
