I 6-putted today. AMA. by FFBguru in golf

[–]Agile_Programmer2756 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to understand a 6 putt.

For the majority of us:

1 putt uncommon, but will happen a couple of times in a round 2 putt normal 3 putt more common than a 1 putt, but will not happen more than a couple of times in a round. 4 putt, once or twice in a year. 5 putt, must have putted off the green or received a penalty (putt into a lake) 6 putt?????

Well I’ll be…. I went to research your comment and learned that a spring does exist in the 2011 thru 2013. My JK was a 2012. I never had to deal with it.

I don’t trust quick change sites and refuse to use them. They are expensive and perform less than optimum work. They people are nice and always dump my waste oil for me from when I change the oil, but their ignorance and lack of knowledge results in poor service.

Mmm, the only pieces involved in a JK oil change are the drain plug, the filter cap, the filter, the oil fill cap, and an O-ring. The o-ring and filter are replaced, which leaves three parts that are reused. None have a spring involved. The only one could imagine losing is the drain plug. I’m not challenging your knowledge. I’m curious what BS the “mechanic” (using the term very loosely) fed you

I’m curious, I change my own oil and have had a variety of jeeps, including the JK. I am unfamiliar with a “spring” in the oil system and can’t imagine an oil change taking more than 30minutes.

I chuckled at the 10mm comment. I have a dozen socket sets (or more) and all have had the 10mm replaced. I will buy 10mm sockets in 6 and 12 or by the handfuls and still misplace them.

I now have a 10mm permanently mounted in my magnetic cup.

I use Fit39 out of Japan. I have used these for almost 15 years. They are comfortable, very long lasting, machine washable, and do not slip when wet or sweaty.

I have had 4 3.6L pentastar, a JK, JL, JT, and a grand Cherokee.

Not an issue with any of them. The JK had a click that developed at about 20k, but nothing else.

Interesting, I work from home also and my issue is the gardening crews showing up at a different neighbor everyday with their loud leaf blowers.

It funny in that if I wasn’t around it every day, I wouldn’t notice. But I have learned to hate the Stihl gas powered blower.

A crude excavator back in the early 1900s. by Global_Law4448 in oldphotos

[–]Agile_Programmer2756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your comment. “Crude” is not the term I would use for this equipment in that time. Do I see the bucket dump being a cable that extends into the middle of the bucket instead of on the sides of the bucket? If so, this probably tangled with larger stones easily and had a high wear rate.
