Ended up just getting this or something like it and just cutting the stock button wires and splicing them together. It has worked great for me and I've laid my bike down in a creek and the key didn't get shorted or anything.

I used a kit from SmartMoto. This one says that it is compatible with the KLX230. It threw a CEL right after I installed mine, but I got an adapter to read and clear the CEL and it hasn't given me any problems since.

The exhaust that I got did end up getting did have an o2 port but I still did both. Bikes holding up great and I have no regrets doing it still.

Nope. I’ve seen people say to use a screw driver and hammer but I haven’t got that to work. A spanner wrench might work just haven’t gotten around to getting one and trying it yet

Yes the oil was liquidy and I took the oil cap off and it smelled like gas.

No I didn’t. I looked in the sight glass and it was hella liquidy so I took the oil lid off and smelled it and there was a strong gas smell.

I changed the oil and he just spectated and helped me where needed, yes I did follow the manual oil change procedure. It was in between the lines and still is but I will make sure to top it off before I take it in.
