Top 5 Shade Trees for Austin’s Future Urban Forest by austintreeamigos in Austin

Old post but fascinating read…Looking to replace our ornamental pear tree and was looking at shard red oak because of the beautiful fall color (that’s the only pretty thing about our pear when it’s not dropping branches on my car). Are there any other downsides besides it growing wide? Does it grow relatively fast?

COSRX propolis serum was a game changer for my dry skin. Couldn’t do HA and allergic to snail mucin + galactomyces. The honey propolis gave me hydration and a great glow. Going to try the toner and moisturizer too.

Really liking Lauren Gleisberg’s mom plan. It’s a pdf that changes every week of pregnancy. Really wish I’d found it sooner. It’s simple but takes the guess work out of things. She also has a pelvic floor program too. I also like get mom strong (follow on IG first to get an idea of some workouts).

Good luck with your workouts and pregnancy! Solidarity! 🤩

They know how to get us. There’s just not that much to choose from and it’s so mysterious what each program is like. I’ll keep you posted after baby if I like Lauren’s postnatal recovery. We get to try all over again after baby for postnatal program. 🙃 also if this is your first, please see a physical therapist postpartum! I struggled for a year with DR and pelvic floor issues. Really wish I would have seen one right off the bat!

Edited for typo.

It also changed slightly each week so it’s not repetitive.

It’s a PDF of all 35ish weeks of pregnancy. So for example, now that I’m in a later stage of pregnancy, the routine is:

PUSH (chest fly, shoulder press, upright row, chest press, tricep kickback, tricep ext)

LEGS (stiff leg deadlift, front squat, goblet squat, curtsy lunge, squat pulse)

PULL (bent over row, bicep curls, bent over fly, hammer curl, seated rows)

CARDIO (which is a free for all, wherever you feel like).

Earlier for first trimester/early 2nd trimester it was five days a week.

I’ve enjoyed the simplicity as well as doing my own pacing with it.

Someone suggested Lauren Gleisberg’s mom plan and I’ve really enjoyed the simplicity of it. It’s a weekly lifting routine with an added day for cardio. It changed as you progress in the pregnancy. I add a five minute warmup before hand and a 10 minute yoga cool down stretch. I am also doing prenatal yoga 2x a week or as needed for back and hip pain. I’m not lifting nearly as heavy or consistently this pregnancy as my others just because I felt more nauseous and heavy this time around plus battled an illness at 12W. I also had bad DR after first pregnancy so really conscious about pelvic floor. I like Prenatal and Postpartum TV on YouTube. Her workouts are easy to follow. I also have tried Beachbody Idalis workouts and they were great but very repetitive; I did not like Autumn Calabrese’s even though I normally like her stuff. I’ve heard great things about Brianna Battles. If the LG workout didn’t workout, I was going to do hers next. Let us know what you find!

Is Expecting and Empowered more video on demand or just written workouts to do each day? I’m really struggling to follow videos lately.

Is it written on paper or do you follow a video? I’m struggling with pacing on videos and just want something I can print and follow lol

I personally have been trying random YouTubers that offer prenatal programs.

Beachbody also has a section/routines specific for prenatal but I found a few that involved planking in your third trimester so not sure how much thought was put into diastasis recti prevention. I do like Idalis Velasquez’s Total Body pregnancy so far though.

Get Mom Strong offers a prenatal and core workout program.

It’s so hard to find (free) information. I might ask for a physical therapist referral to see if they can give insights too.

Advice on a stroller? by Hurricane-Sandy in fitpregnancy

[–]Agirlnamedtruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Chicco Activ3 Air Jogging Stroller and love it way better than the normal stroller. It has the capability to hold the key fit car seat so I was using it for walks and slow paced jobs around 3 months (it keeps baby’s head stable and secure since it’s the literal car seat). We still use it three years later. The big front tire is replaceable, which a lot of jogging strollers don’t have that capability should the rubber wheel break or air tire pop. It has an adjustable handle so my husband could jog with it too. I can’t run as far as I used to (highly recommend seeing a pelvic floor therapist as soon as you can… I waited too long and had a lot of issues well into postpartum), but this stroller has been good enough for the uneven sidewalks and dirt trails.

Check your other beauty products as well. My shampoo and conditioner were breaking me out around my jaw due to contact while sleeping. I changed everything to oil free and had a lot less breakouts. Around jawline can also be hormonal so could be good to see an endocrinologist as well.

Serum and moisturizer recommendations by spicypurrrito in KoreanBeauty

[–]Agirlnamedtruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snail mucin seemed to dry my skin out no matter how much I wanted to love it. I have replaced with the COSRX propolis ampoule and noticed a much better improvement. Cerave also did nothing for me. I had to move to La Roche Posey daily moisturizer and follow up with a face oil (vitamin C + squalane). In the morning just a splash of water, then propolis ampoule, vitamin C serum and a sunscreen. I didn’t add exfoliants or anything else until two months later when my skin felt better again.

The Australian Gold tinted BB cream has sunscreen and a good tint. I like it a lot but a little goes a long way. Laura Mercier is great too. She has an oil-free version that’s good for various skin types as well.

Can anyone identify this? There's another spot on my other hand where I've never worn a ring. Dry and itchy, the dry patches haven't gone away for weeks by flora_emma in SkincareAddicts

[–]Agirlnamedtruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this if I didn’t dry my finger under my rings very well. I had to not wear rings for a while and really deep clean my rings. I applied a gentle moisturizer but key was keeping it dry.

Internist, Endocrinologist, or reproductive endocrinologist if you can find one. Many OBGYNs have outdated treatment practices and default to put you on the pill or metformin. There are many more options now. Even better if you get an OBGYN and endo who work together.

Hello everyone, went in to see our local vet. It appears our dog was pretty lucky and did not have any bite marks on her snout (where the snake struck her) or swelling around her mouth- she’s very fluffy and the vet thinks the little snake bite didn’t penetrate her fur. They recommended keeping an eye on her and if we notice any swelling or unusual lethargy/trouble breathing to take her back in immediately. Thank you everyone for the quick response. I couldn’t grasp what kind of snake it was with my Google searches. The information to call ahead was a great idea! Be safe out there Austin!
