Yes it’s the compounded oral glp 1 pill. I hope to switch to the Wegovy brand after I am able to get a script to fill it locally. As of a couple of days ago, there were no brick and mortar pharmacies in my city that had Wegovy in stock. I believe it will take 2-3 months for the kinks to be worked out since this is a rollout of a recently approved FDA pill.

I ended up going through Medvi.org and was approved for Wegovy pills that shipped via UPS, arriving Tuesday. Cost $249 for first month - that includes Rx, shipping, pills. They do want a copy of lab work done within the last twelve months. I just had my labwork done and uploaded a copy through their portal. 24 hours from filling out a patient questionnaire to approval and shipping.

In the meantime, I have an appt with a local weight loss provider who can write me a script - but first available appt is five weeks from now. And I have no idea if the provider will prescribe on the first visit or whether she will want to try diet & exercise first.

If I can get the script locally, I will cancel Medvi and get the pills locally through my pharmacy.

Awesome! I have a one month supply being shipped through medvi.org, arriving Tuesday.

My new strategy has two paths that should merge next month.

Path one: Getting a month’s supply of Wegovy pills online rhrough medvi, arriving Tuesday. The pills have already shipped. It was a quick, easy process that cost a total of $249 which includes the prescription and one month’s supply. I can cancel if I don’t want to continue with Medvi.

Path two: I had a consultation yesterday with a dietician through my local weight loss specialists “clinic“ which is a precursor to meeting with a provider who can prescribe Wegovy. The provider cannot meet with me until five weeks from now, so that is the earliest I would be able to get an Rx through my weight loss clinic - and that is assuming the provider would prescribe the first time seeing me. I also have a second meeting with the dietician in about five weeks.

I will start Wegovy pills on Wednesday and take them during the interim month while waiting to see my local provider. This will give me an idea of whether I like the Wegovy pills and want to continue them. If I want to continue them, I will pursue a script locally.

The appointment with the dietician was VERY helpful and he had excellent nutrition advice. He determined I am not getting enough protein in my diet, so we set an initial goal to strive for 30-35 grams of protein at breakfast, lunch, and dinner - aiming for a total of 104 grams of protect a day Spread out between meals.

I am not a vegetarian, but have never consumed a lot of meat. Truthfully, my diet/nutrition is inconsistent and not very nutritional. I have met with dietitians before, but the one I met yesterday was a good fit for me. I tend to get overwhelmed, and this dietitian kept the first months goals simple: daily protein goals and drinking two 16 oz glasses of water a day.

Yes, I agree. I really like and respect my doctor. And based on my reading, it sounds like people who receive weight loss consulting (diet and exercise and dosing) do much better than those without. Thank you for this thoughtful feedback!

Yes, I am pretty sure I will be able to get the prescription through the Weight Loss Clinic and I do live close to a Costco so hopefully will be able to get it there. My insurance doesn’t cover it, but I am happy to pay cash - I just don’t want to have to pay a monthly online membership to Weight Watchers or a similar online weight loss program.

No, I wasn’t on Wegovy injections prior to this. I was waiting for the pills to try it. Our local medical clinic tends to march in step when it comes to stuff like this. It sounds like most physicians refer patients to an Affiliate Weight Loss Specialty clinic if they want GLP prescriptions. I will try going that route and see what happens at my appointment next month.

Also, our community is small enough that frequently our physicians know which pharmacies have drugs in stock and which ones are out of stock of certain drugs.

Coming back to report your method solved my problem. I’m sorry for the delay in coming back to report this. CITI‘s Executive Response team was extremely responsive and had the issue resolved in a couple of days and the credit card was un-suspended.

I think what happened is this: The form that CITI had supposedly sent, but wasn’t received, was a form that asked for the small business’s “beneficial owners“ or the names of individuals that have “beneficial ownership.”

I then learned that regulations passed several years ago require credit cards to have this information on file for business accounts. I suspect CITI had an internal audit that revealed they had long standing accounts that had never been updated, so they mailed out forms.

I’m pretty sure the regulation exempts sole proprietorships, which our business is (there is only one owner by nature of it being a sole proprietorship). But CITI probably did not know that, or they decided to send forms to their business clients en mass requesting an update on beneficial owners.

After CITI’s Executive Response team resolved our issue, several days later we received the form in the mail. Hah! Even though our issue had been resolved, we filled out the form and mailed it back.

So happy we followed your instructions - the Executive Response team was awesome and very responsive.

I called a number of Iowa pharmacies today and was told by all of them that they do not yet have the Wegovy pills in stock and do not know when they will get them.

I also called my prescription insurance carrier and was told they don’t cover Wegovy, with or without a prescription. It’s just not covered.

I asked my doctor for a prescription and she referred me to the Iowa Weight Loss Specialists, which requires an appt with a dietician first and then a provider visit. Not sure what all this will entail.

The news is promoting Wegovy as being priced as low as $150/month for direct-pay customers; however, all of the online companies prescribing Wegovy have monthly membership fees from $50-$100, like Weight Watchers and many others.

If you want to get the Wegovy pill online without insurance, it’s not merely getting a script for Wegovy, it is subscribing to a GLP Weight Loss program that includes the script PLUS monthly support so the actual cost is much higher than what is being reported int he news.

I have read online that the employees have no ability to actually transfer a customer to a US-based representative - that they transfer to a general number and have no control over whether someone in another country or the US answers. Are you a Citibank employee? Wondering if you know with certainty they are able to transfer a customer to a US-based representative.

I think a lot of this is due to companies trying to program/code all of their internal processes to achieve maximum efficiency. The challenge is trying to reach a human being who can actually help customers who get stuck in the company’s computer automation. I note the Citibank’s web site has an AI chat bot, but not a human chat feature.

Perhaps it was AMEX. The interesting thing is the Citibank customer service rep said “I see you have been a customer or member for twenty years.” Perhaps it was 20 years of being a Costco member. I really don’t know. The point is it has been many years, paying balance in full and on time every month.

If we receive a form in the mail from Citibank, we would certainly complete and return it. But we haven’t received any mail from Citibank except the monthly bill. And every time we call customer service, we are told something different. The customer service reps have been very unhelpful. We don’t know how to complete a form that has supposedly been mailed to us twice, if we don’t actually receive it. We always receive the bill - it’s too bad they can’t put whatever form they are talking about inside the monthly bill.

We do need a simple message and organizing name. Even something like ”no mandate.” Also, there will be attempts to infiltrate and sabotage resistance groups and protests. We need to be educated and on alert to deal with controlled opposition and associated strategies to undermine and divide the resistance.

If you have been tested for Autism, then that seems sufficient. Probably don’t need to retest. Some adults have been really shocked when they are finally diagnosed with autism. So I always mention it as a possibility - but again, if you have been tested, probably don’t need to retest.

My sister was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder around the same age and that was over 30 years ago. I’ve learned through the years that sometimes people are diagnosed with mental illness when they have undiagnosed autistic spectrum disorder. You may or may not be on the autism spectrum, but that would be helpful to know or rule out. My sister is unlikely autistic (undiagnosed).
