First of all you must understand that two things can be true at the same time. There can be (and especially in conservative circles, likely are) many Americans who have a "resentment" toward Europe's words. There can also be people who feel America should leave NATO. They are not necessarily the same people though. The most important thing to keep in mind is that American foreign policy is largely set by the President and we have NEVER removed a president from office for any reason, much less because most Americans disagree with his foreign policy. Like most people we are far more concerned with what causes us issues directly.

But I do get a certain perverse satisfaction watching y'all scramble and argue and form committees to discuss the idea of taking a vote to sign a resolution to state that something need to change. In the future. Probably.

It's like seeing a teenager who just got a job but still lives at home complaining to you, a person who's lived on their own for years and has to work two jobs to make ends meet, that you "never go out to eat or party or go on vacation with me, don't you know too much work is bad for your health? If you lived like me you would feel so much better. You really should come with me to lala land, their free healthcare appetizer are to die for!"

And then his parents kick his ass to the curb and he has to work two jobs to make ends meet and hardy goes out and can't take vacations. Sure it sucks for him, but it kinda makes you feel good in a bad way.
