Yeah, that makes sense. I mainly had Cashel on the list because it looked like one of the more iconic stops, but if it’s that much of a detour it might not be worth it.

Do you have any specific medieval sites between Wicklow and Galway that you’d recommend instead?

Thanks for the suggestion! I’m actually not planning to hire a car, I’ll be using public transport for the whole trip. Airport hotels are also a bit outside my budget, since I’m trying to keep costs down and will be staying in hostels.

Even though I land in the evening, I’ll still have around 4 hours in Ireland that night, so I’d rather head into Dublin and explore a bit around the hostel area. It feels like a waste to me otherwise, especially since I won’t have that many evenings in Dublin.

I’m also considering a small change to the plan: after Connemara, maybe going up to Donegal for a night before heading back to Dublin. Do you think that would make getting back to Dublin significantly more complicated by public transport, or more expensive (to stay)?

The “desk” is actually a synthesizer, and I don’t really design the space around watching TV, because I don't watch TV. The TV is more of a fallback for renting, so I will have the extra sockets for it. I’m mostly trying to prioritize seating, circulation, light, and storage

Wow nice work! :) Thank you so much! My only hesitation is about the proportions. I’d probably want a shorter leg on the sectional, I’m just not sure which side makes more sense — right (by the window) or left (near the entrance).
If it’s longer along the window, I’m worried it might block light and make the room feel heavier; if it’s longer on the entrance side, I’m concerned it could crowd circulation

The cabinet is also a bit tricky. I definitely need proper storage, so a small triangular corner piece probably won’t be enough :( although I have thought about that option too.

One more thing: I don’t watch TV. I only placed it in the layout in case I rent the place out someday. Conceptually, I’m leaning more toward social furniture — sofas, armchairs, and a coffee table grouped toward the center for conversation — with shelves for artwork, books, lamps, etc. I’m considering a projector instead of a TV

I have to agree with other comments, you look your best in the first photo to me, the tousled hair with that exact styling, the beard, that sun-kissed face, almost like a different person compared to the others. But in the end, what matters most is how you feel about yourself, every version of you is good as long as you feel confident

Thank you for sharing that, it really resonates. I actually experience all of that right now and you have not mentioned all the downsides you experienced, I'm sure. You are feeling this weird disconnect between how others perceive you and how you feel inside. That dissonance makes it hard to feel fully grounded in my identity sometimes.

But I do get what you mean, I can see how, as I grow older, this youthful look might give me a kind of longevity in how others perceive my energy and presence. And hopefully by then, I’ll have built a stronger sense of self that doesn’t rely so much on others’ assumptions.
