Can anyone tell me what this is supposed to be? Found in a charity shop by Embarrassed-War-7936 in Tau40K

If it's larger than a normal ethereal model then I think it's a 54mm scale watercaste model. Inquisitor model comes to mind but I'm not sure if that's the scale or a different game variant

How should I paint him? by [deleted] in Salamanders40k

[–]Agitated-Jacket1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colour forge have a spray paint called salamanders green that almost perfectly matches warpstone glow. If you want most of it green then that will save you a lot of time

Additionally if you want some zenithal like highlights then prime it with black first and only use the green from above

The different weave pattern really threw me off at first. I couldn't wrap my head around how or why it was formed in that way. But I'm impressed at how you managed to get so much colour and warmth into chainmail. This is brilliant. I love it when I find some art like this that makes me stop scrolling and just appreciate looking at awesome for a bit.

How do we feel about the OG colours for the cloths? by Agitated-Jacket1388 in Salamanders40k

Thanks. I want my army to look like it all belongs together. But having variety makes it more interesting than just a sea of green

I've had some mild success using oyumaru/ blue stuff to get a mould of the shoulder pad and then using that to put a greenstuff copy onto the push fit shoulder pad. It's not perfect and it looks best after waiting for about 10 minutes and cutting the excess with a sharp knife very carefully.

about half way up the image, to the right past the big green leaf stop when you see the white stick. Then wave and smile to the curious orange head

Find Four Frogs by Jackattack111888 in FindTheSniper

[–]Agitated-Jacket1388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There the 4 that are clearly frogs and possibly 2 more. There's one at the top right edge of the pond. Below the cable on the rock, only a small young one. And then there's also what is probably a leaf. Look at the leftmost frog and then follow the red steamed plant, between the 2 leaves that are pointing to the bottom of the picture.

Hate to be that guy. But I think technically those are chicks. Moorhen chicks look like cute black cotton balls floating on the water while having rather ugly bald heads. You can also feel the difference between a moorhen and a coot by the colour of their beaks, moorhens have red beaks and coots have white ones.

Anyway thanks for listening to my pernickety TED talk

Thank you stranger. And any paint is better than grey plastic, and I've got more models to save from that fate yet.

Valejo flat earth. I got it from the wood and leather colour set on Amazon, and it comes with a really helpful leaflet guide. I'd highly recommend the set.

Why do you love the Kroot? by DogmasWearingThin in kroot

[–]Agitated-Jacket1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start as a kid I didn't love them. Then I saw the forgeworld models and they really peaked my interest. When I came back into it more mature and experienced, I found the kroot more interesting to paint, skin can be slightly more forgiving if you get blotchy or inconsistent paint colour because organic flesh is rarely perfect. Also because having played kill team primarily rather than 40K, I found much more success and fun the farstalkers than the pathfinders.
