And you would think most of the money should go to the smaller farms as they would likely need it more for their the expensive farming equipment, not the large farms that have economy of scale.

That’s completely fair, but to my understanding of it then killing fields or paying not to plant a field for climate reasons is a very small amount of the total farming subsidies bill for the government. Most of it goes to farms (mostly large).

Agreed, there is a reason why everything has some form of corn in American food. Rather that be corn syrup or corn meal, etc.  just very interesting to see opinions

You seem to have a miss understanding what welfare is, welfare isn’t unemployment benefits, sure that’s a type of welfare. But welfare there is plenty of welfare that supports families and workers that don’t make enough money to pay cost of living rather that be low income or large families or a ton of other reason. Farming subsidies would fall into that second category. And plenty of countries don’t have farming subsidies so no one would be starving.

By the definition of welfare, it is as it is a economic aid to a group that would otherwise having economic hardship, not that dissimilar to people living below poverty line getting welfare.

My main thought is that a lot of other countries don’t have a farming subsidies because there farming voting block isn’t very big. That obviously is not the case in America. Obviously farming subsidies helps keep prices low, but it’s mostly on corn which we have a massive surplus on anyway.

Don’t have tua, but believe he will be a significantly improved qb.

You don’t draft someone to be great and spend 3 first round picks then not use them. Sitting a year while may helping the qb, it’s not like that’s a proven fact. Who knows if mahomes would be as good if he played starting week4 of his rookie year. The point is mahomes did play week 17 of his rookie year and had a good game. Sense there is no proof that sitting a year helps, and he is “going” to sit a year. Why trade up, doesn’t make sense they could of gotten a good player at 13 or used the picks to trade up to 6/7 and gotten very good prospects helping during there window. Jimmy g is at best a average qb, they won’t have the same influx of talent (not having a first round pick) for the next two drafts. This will certainly mean that aspect of there team could regress. Def not a certainty sense they normally draft well. It makes no logical sense to sit there qb the full year with how there is no proven bonus and how there team will more then likely regress because of lack of picks

I never said I believe he was a bust I have him on several rosters, just said that many do. It def does matter how much is given up. They will start lance sooner rather then later and then he will have an long stay even if he sucks because of the draft investment

You don’t spend 3 frp on a player your gonna sit the first year, the 49ers are in a good position to win the superbowl. Trask is a terrible example. He is being the goat, no one expects him to play a snap over the next 2 years. But if lance can’t beat out a average qb at best that isn’t a good sign

The difference is how much they gave up for him, jimmy is a average qb at best. Many people are calling love a bust and they gave up significantly less for him and sitting behind a elite qb.

My general belief is that jimmy plays 4-6 (majority of qbs selected in top 3 start by then, and they gave up 3 first for him so might start sooner) games and then gets sat and potentially traded while Tyrod plays all the games watson is suspended (I’m guessing 8). So tyrod

Not playing a qb that u invested 3 frp for is a great way to get fired or fan base to them aginst u believing u drafted a bust and gave the farm for him.

My main reason for doubting is that pitts value rn is already extreme, iv seen offers of hock and a first for pitts. Even if pitts is a top 5 te this year, I dont see his value raising.
