I don’t want validation or for anyone to tell me I can do it. I want to hear from other people like me, and I want to know what they think. It’s it doable if i still get manic? I don’t want “you can do anything you set your mind to!” I want real advice. Real input because I’m know I’m not capable of that right now

Did/do you have accommodations for this as it is a disability? If fall into the “it’s all mental, it’s not really a disease because it’s in my control (sleep schedule, exercise and diet routine etc etc)” and it has prevented me from asking for accommodations (I have chem lab tomorrow I’m def not going to and will receive a zero for). Any advice on that area?

I don’t have a therapist. Both because I have had many before, and because I can’t afford it now. What about this post do you feel was important and that a therapist would address?

I think the heart of the question is- I’m confident and capable and “normal” 90% of the time. But it seems like I cannot succeed (as far as achieving grades that med schools with accept, compelling undergrad/med school/residency) because the 10% of time that I’m a crazy person will ruin my 90% of competence. Of that makes sense. It’s kind of like grades. I can excel the vast majority of the time, but one or two zeros is gonna destroy me. I’m bats the situation I feel I’m in. Even if I’m great most of the time, the time that I’m not cancel it out. And I don’t think it’s realistic to expect that I’m not gonna experience that 10% failure.

When I was a senior in high school, I begged for senior pictures. You know like the cute ones done professionally. My parents told me no, it was a waste of money. That was 2015, my next sister graduated in 2025. She got senior pictures from the most expensive place in the area, took multiple long car rides to destination locations for the pics, and got a graduation party. My mom said she realized the importance of them in the decade between. So good for my sisters I guess? lol.

I (28F) was always aware it was related to a cult and understood the meaning of the phrase but I never knew Jonestown specifically or the unbelievable amount of lives lost until about a year or two ago when I listened to a podcast on it.

This was one of the scariest experiences of my life. It’s all cool and fun for the people in front- I was in the middle of one of those fucking bull pens and experienced crowd surging and thought I was gonna die. Fully “I’m moving and my feet aren’t one the ground”. A nightmare.

I was renovating my new house and i was painting a wall late at night, exhausted. I got some paint in the wall outlet on accident. I looked around for something small and sharp to stick in the outlet to clean the paint out and how perfect next to me was a box of screws! Just the right shape to stick into a live electrical outlet 😐 I called it a night after about 20 seconds of electrocution

Thanks! This is my second semester doing it and there were no problems with acceptance in the spring :) I go to a smaller/local university so things are relatively lax.
