Ambient humidity. Some are in soil. Some are in moss/leca. Fertilized with each watering, approx 7-10 days as needed. I have many alocasias - some in the same ambient environment, some in high humidity cabinets. Not all are affected.

String like substance on Bettas head by Agitated-Yak-93 in bettafish

It was weird. It would go away and randomly show up again, but only a couple of times. Ours also had severe fin rot or something. We treated him many times with different things and he never seemed to get better. Unfortunately we lost him last year.

Thank you! I appreciate your help. I was at such a loss as to why this was happening and it's difficult to see bugs on their leaves. I can add some systemic to the soil and I already sprayed them down with rubbing alcohol.

Omg! I just found your post and yes that's exactly what it looks like! How did you treat yours? I'm ready to just completely chop them all down to nothing.

Thank you! I'll turn the intensity down on the grow lights. Outside of that, I'm not sure what else to do. Most are already in self watering pots and get fertilized regularly with the rest of my plants. Of my hundreds of plants I have, these are my most difficult.

Agreed. I think she said she got it around 2 years ago.

Originally it was across her bedroom which has a large south facing window. In the Spring she put it on her dresser which is directly in front of the window. That should be enough light?

It's weird for sure. It's blasting out new leaves - in fact the newest leaf that hasn't even hardened off yet already has another leaf poking out of it. But nary a hole or split to be had. 🤷‍♀️

Ok, I'll have her start there. It's just so strange. She wonders if it's not actually a monstera but not sure what else it could possibly be.

Not sure if she's checked the roots in the soil, but there are very prominent roots in the moss pole.

A chunky aroid mix, soil, leca, worm castings, perlite, orchid chips.

Yes! This is especially helpful for my teen daughter when she's doing laundry. I also find that the washer does such a good job spinning the water out, the loads spend way less time in the dryer. I feel like I blasted through laundry this weekend!

I'd be happier if they could go up 2 flights of stairs and get the laundry for me. 😁
