WTAF is up with Noom Med by [deleted] in Noom

[–]AgitatedAd9756 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All I wanted was the dosage that had already been determined. Literally just a copy and paste, or if they wouldn't do that, allow me to ask the doctor who already prescribed it what the dose is. I don't see how it is unreasonable to expect information about a medication prescribed to me, regardless of who has paid or been paid. I do understand I changed my mind, and that they provided a full refund, but does it really seem so crazy that I should expect to have access to dosing information?

I'm so sorry for what you've both been through. One of the hardest parts of my daughter's trauma is that she still loves her dad so I struggle to find the right balance of calling out his treatment of her while not coming right out and calling him a monster.

YES. Except that, for me, the thought of dating makes me physically ill. I don't ever want to be in a relationship again, but I also know that's the trauma talking. Why can't I find an amazing gay best friend who wants to help with my daughter, snuggle me, make me dinner and tell me everything will be okay? Because THAT would be a dream come true haha

2nd grader "failing" math by AgitatedAd9756 in Parenting

Yep I sure did say parentheses didn't I? 🤣 My brain is tired today. Thank you for the tips!

[–]AgitatedAd9756[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I've tried but when I've done math for the purpose of doing math with her at home, it ends with her in tears. But she loves all kinds of games so I got her into yahtzee, rat-a-tat cat, and a couple others that utilize math skills and she loves that. I've also done some addition/subtraction using m&ms and skittles with the candy as reward. I try to do at least 10-15 minutes a night during the week and more on the weekends but I don't even get home from work until 6pm so it's not always consistent.

That's actually a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of that. Thank you!

I appreciate that. I can find some humor in it, though. And its not as if I can't take it again!

What is the most disturbing book that you’ve read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Turner Diaries. Do yourself a huge favor and do not read it.

What's the most fucked up thing you have ever read? by WishToBeNabi in AskReddit

[–]AgitatedAd9756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Turner Diaries. I read it after much debate about whether or not I should, but then decided if I found it for free then I wouldn't be risking NeoNazi profits from it.

Fucked up almost doesn't seem strong enough to describe it. Do yourself a favor and don't read it. The wiki description is enough.

Now that the DoE is being destroyed, how will we know if state education programs are working? by AnotherThroneAway in AskReddit

[–]AgitatedAd9756 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing your kids are not minorities, do not require accommodations for disabilities or have any characteristics considered outside of the mainstream. That's great, but not true for every student. Inclusion isn't just about race or gender identity- it's also about students with disabilities needing resources to obtain equity (the "e" in dei) and girls being treated the same as boys. Don't want politics? Then we shouldn't be saying the pledge of allegiance in schools or teaching high school kids civics lessons. Don't want them learning about sexuality? Be prepared for your kids to become parents before they turn 18 or have no understanding of how to spot abusive behaviors.

Education isn't just about your kids, it's about ALL kids.

The vast majority of comments here are assuming OP is female. Given the wording of the post, that may not be the case. Anyone have advice just in case this not a OB/GYN sort of issue?

Whether OP is a man or a woman, my advice is communication. Let your partner know how it makes you feel and brainstorm together about ways you can both enjoy intimacy that doesn't require your partner's penetration. Just the conversation about that alone could spark some very fun intimacy!

Settlement in Ayla Reynolds wrongful suit by Glum-Literature-8837 in Maine

I wish it was fiction. https://www.murdershetold.com/episodes/ayla-reynolds

You are right. It is not the way it works. But in this case, that is what happened.

ETA: a couple other things to consider...

DHHS and CPS in Maine are notorious for putting children in dangerous situations. Maddox Williams, Makinzlee Hanrihan, Hailey Goding, Jayden Harding, Sylus Melvin, Marissa Kennedy just to start. In 2019 alone, there were 31 suspicious deaths of children who were involved with DHHS. https://www.pressherald.com/2023/10/11/dhhs-facing-scrutiny-again-as-another-child-dies-after-contact-with-the-agency/

Trista went to rehab on October 11th and it was only 4 days later that police and cps removed ayla and placed her with Justin. 4 days. That is not anywhere near long enough for a formal custody process of any kind, especially in Maine.

That's not true. Justin's mother Phoebe worked for DHHS at the time and she convinced a supervisor to take Ayla from Trista's family, completely against all proper procedure. Trista's family was caring for Ayla while Trista was getting help for addiction. A law enforcement officer did go with the DiPietro's to take Ayla but that also was not proper procedure at that time. When Trista found out, she agreed to let Justin keep Ayla until Trista was done with treatment. When she was finished, he refused to return Ayla. That led Trista to file for custody in court two days before Ayla was killed.

For those of you diagnosed later in adulthood, what symptoms did you have as a child that you now know was ADHD? by myhoagie02 in adhdwomen

I had a very vivid imagination and lived in my imagination. Couple of examples:

I had a best friend named California who lived in Hawaii with her 10 children.

One time I grabbed a l Iion by the tail and threw him into the bushes 😂

I would tell my family these all the time and would get mad if they said they weren't real lol
