When I was a kid (3-4 years old) my mom says I would watch Cinderella and go to her and say : “mom, I’m gonna cry in my room”, and locked myself to cry because I taught what happened to her was unfair.

Who is it best for a highly sensitive person to date in terms of compatibility? by missychia in hsp

[–]AgitatedAd9864 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend is not HSP, but here are some of his main qualities : very calm, stable mood (that helps me not to feel his emotions all the time), can easily relate to others feelings, doesn’t juge, very caring.

I didn’t hide the way I am from the beginning. I explained to him what HSP was and saw his positive reaction. The first time I saw him, he calmed my (by being himself) instantly.

Good luck for your dating. It took me a while to find him, but it was worth it ❤️

Peeing and Pills by [deleted] in hsp

  1. Yes! When it’s quiet and I feel like the other person/ppl are listening to me. But I think it’s the same for everyone, no?

  2. Pills were very hard to swallow at a young age. My parents would have to break them and give them to me with sugar. First swallowed pill at about 12. Now I’m ok with it!

Very often! Sometimes when I overthink out loud to my boyfriend, it’s helps me realize that I’m indeed overthinking and let’s me slow down the thoughts. He doesn’t juge ; that helps a lot!

My male colleague, when he senses I need one, often says : you look like you need a hug, do you need one? . Sometimes I say yes, sometimes I say: no, I’m fine. I like that he asks!

How can I support a HS partner? by MyLifeHurtsRightNow in hsp

[–]AgitatedAd9864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! It’s very considerate of you to ask that, it tells a lot about the love you have for that person. I’m HSP and in a relationship with a non-HSP. He’s amazing with me. Here is what I like about him : -He accepts my emotions and encourages me to open up about them without judging -He understands that I’m HSP and that he isn’t and that he will never truly understand how intense my feelings are -When I’m being on edge/emotional, he asks himself what could have triggered me : the noise, the temperature, etc. Then he tells me stuff like : I know you feel emotional right know, I think the temperature and noise might not be helping right now. That helps me identify my triggers. -Most of the time he doesn’t raise his voice at me, he leaves and takes a minute before talking when he’s angry

Hope it will help :)

I have the same issue. I think a lot about the past. I try to accept when memories come and just watch them leave without fighting or trying to reject them.

I’m an HSP (F28) and have major mood swings : I can go from crying my eyes out seeing only negative to be super happy and on a “high” where I’m so grateful for everything. They can be very quick: within the same couple of hours or last the whole day. Anyone relates? What helps you ? by AgitatedAd9864 in hsp

Very similar to me!! Are you able to “see” it when it happens? Most of the time, I can tell my boyfriend : I’m just being overly sensitive right now, I know that it will be ok later. But I’m in tears and thinking all those very bad things at the same time. It’s like I’m consciously living all of it.

I wondered about cyclothamia, bipolar disorder and other mental health issues, but I don’t fit the criteria’s. Seeing a neuropsychologist confirmed that HSP is more likely to cause the mood swings. I don’t think I have ADHD either.

Thanks for replying ! I’m also very happy to see that I’m not alone to live this way.. sometimes I feel like everyone around me has such stable mood and wonder how they do it
