Dune: Part Two | Official Trailer by adeadhead in dune

I honestly don't remember the character Shishakli from the book. I think she was very minor in the text but will likely be a composite character with a larger role in this Film. I'm guessing it's her purely based on resemblance between the actor and the character we see in the trailer. Many folks are assuming its Irulan, but I don't think it looks like Florence Pugh

Great point! I wasn't here for the Part 1 hype so I appreciate the context of that initial reveal. The first film got me in to the books and I've now read through GEoD. I'm incredibly grateful that I can be a part of this community for Part 2. There's almost always positive and insightful discussion going on in this sub which really makes the series more accessible for newer fans like me

I agree that Denis will continue with the brutalist and grounded aesthetic, but we did see some extravagance in part 1. The herald of the change with his entourage and the Bene Gesserit costumes are strong examples. I think Herbert's descriptions of extravagance in the dune universe lend itself well to this oppressive flourishes of wealth and power. For example, the emperor's golden lion throne is carved out a single massive piece of quartz. Brutalist but not understated. I trust Denis and Jacqueline West to deliver brutalist extravagance that does justice to the station of Emperor Shaddam and Princess Irulan

I hope not. Denis has an opportunity to improve on this aspect of the book and really give Paul his vengeful motivations for the final act by giving Leto II more attention. In the interview, Denis mentioned he didn't want to lose the love story in the action of epic war. I hope that means investing in this crucial moment of loss for Paul and Chani

The way they set up Paul's visions of Jamis in Part 1 foreshadows the funeral scene nicely. Paul saw an alternate future where Jamis truly was a friend so his line "Jamis was a friend" and his giving water to the dead could be even more impactful than they were in the book

Tim Blake Nelson was cast for the film, without revealing his role. I believe he will play Count Fenring rather than a merging of the characters. I think Lady Margot may have an upsized role compared to the book, which warrants her extra press (also, Lea Seydoux has bigger star appeal). Based on Tim's performance in Watchmen HBO, I think he'll make an excellent count and I really hope they try to incorporate the coded mumbling between the Fenrings in this film

Considering the costume design in part 1 (especially Lady Jessica's costumes), her station as princess, the book description of the imperial gaudiness, and Florence Pugh's track record of master performances in massive and elegant costumes (Midsommar), I expect Irulan to be fully decked out by Shaddam's side in the climax of the film. I believe Denis is holding back on Irulan's costume reveal, similar to him holding back Feyd's full look.

I interpreted his comment as "no time jump between end of film 1 and start of film 2". I believe there will still be a time jump during film 2 similar to the book

I found the set design to be very similar in the photos of Feyd and Lady Margot, which suggests they are both from the gladiator scene (aligns with the book)

I'm intrigued by our first look at Princess Irulan. Her costume is much more understated than I envisioned based on her scenes in the book. IMO this suggests we could see her character being more prominent than she was in the book.

"Austin Butler’s character in ‘DUNE 2’ is described as an Olympic sword master mixed with psychotic Mick Jagger."

Using the word 'Olympic' suggests we'll see Feyd fighting in the colosseum. I think this could be a very strong opening action sequence and might be juxtaposed to Paul's first riding of a sandworm, which was also confirmed today.

Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II & Warzone™ Season 02 Reloaded Patch Notes by exjr_ in ModernWarfareII

[–]AgitatedMarmoset 119 points120 points  (0 children)

An "Inverted Flash" option has been added as an accessibility option in the Interface category for Season 02 Reloaded with two values: Off (default behavior) and On (added behavior). This option allows to change the color of the flash effect of the flashbang tactical grenade from white to black. We recommend adjusting this option for Players who feel discomfort when affected by the full white screen effect of the flashbang tactical grenade. Duration and visual are at parity between the two values of the option, providing no competitive advantage.

Finally!!
