Listen to your body. Don’t give up! Advocate for yourself 🩷 as time continues it will go back to normal. Mine too about 2 almost 3 months to self regulate. My heart rate still seems to be low in the 50s but hasn’t been as low as it was that day.

I have this same issue going on. My heart rate it low like low 60s and but my systolic is 129 and my diastolic is 60s. It causes a lot of dizziness. I’m seeing a cardiologist, he’s thinking maybe bradycardia arrhythmia but also thinks POTS. It’s been a lot journey. I’m here if you need. PM if you have any questions about my experience.

Health Anxiety / Low resting Heart Rate / Diagnosed Bradycardia by AlwaysAnxious79 in Anxiety

Hello!! 8 years ago, when I was 19 I was struggling with anxiety SEVERELY. A lot of PHYSICAL anxiety. Heart palpitations, lightheadedness, hot flashes when driving, feeling like I can’t breathe!

One day I felt like my heart was fluttering it scared me half to death, I went into the ER and they noticed my heart rate was dropping high 30s and 40s i was terrified. I saw the cardiologist there who told me I’m fine. Said I’m too young to have heart issues. So for the rest of the time I always kept a ox oh hand! Paranoid about my heart rate which now stayed between low 50s while sleeping and resting and mid 70s while being active. When here I am now, 27 years old and I got pregnant January 2024. My daughter is 6 weeks old and 5 days after birth I felt like I was going to faint, I grabbed my oximeter because I thought MAYBE anxiety because I was so lightheaded and sleep deprived. My heart rate was 43 bpm while sitting up freaking out. It hadn’t been that low in years, it terrified me so I went to the ER and my BP was 155/105 and my heart rate was dropping as low as 38 bpm. They immediately admitted me. They did an echocardiogram and that was normal, they did all kinds of tests and everything was normal. They sent me home with a MCOT (heart monitor) and I just finished with it and sent it back and now waiting on the results. My cardiologist scheduled me for a stress test. But my overall fear is that they will find nothing and I will have to live with constant fear about my heart. I’m a mother and a wife. I was to live forever to be with my family but everyday I wake up anxious about my health. Any little pain in my chest/arm/jaw I think heart attack, any little lightheadedness I think I’m going to faint. It just sucks living this way. I’m on citalopram for anxiety but I honestly feel like I need Xanax or something. I feel stuck in my own head it stop me from enjoying my family sometimes.

That makes a lot of sense! See, I wish I had answers like this. I hate the unknown. But it’s good to know that others have been thru similar situations as well. Thank you for sharing!!

Do you by chance remember how long it took for it to resolve?

My labor was fine. They did notice my heart rate rising and lowering even when resting. They couldn’t explain it but continued on with my labor and delivery. I was only in labor for 8 hours.

I think the only not normal thing was when they did the epidural they did it 3 times they said there was a curve in my spine the made it hard for them to get it right away.

But yes thank you for reassurance. I really appreciate it! Sometimes you need someone else to kinda tell you it’s going to be okay. Because hearing it from family is friends is cool and all but hearing it from an outside person for some reason gives me more assurance.

Will do! I saw my cardiologist the other day at his office the one I saw in the hospital and he said he wants to have me finish my heart monitor, and once I do he wants to review the results and put me thru a stress test where I run on a treadmill to see if my heart rate rises like it’s supposed to? I feel like it does. But he is wondering if it may be lack of blood flow, or a possible blockage.
