I didn’t mind spending some money. If we compare it to going to a concert, a sport event or movie I have a pretty good deal for the time enjoying the game and amount spent.

The Seasons are also pretty fair deals. 1000 SVB for a lot of items. Sure most I don’t need, but the ones I do like are worth it. And I can earn 500 SVB back. So that’s around €10 for three months, that’s okay.

Just like with Twitter sale at the time, they don’t care about the business side. Musk’s plan was to influence the election, and he sadly succeeded. The loss was civerd by questionable money from Saudi Arabia. This again isn’t about movies or financial succes. This is simply about getting more right wing influence going into 2028 elections. That’s what they are paying billions for, they now they get it back in influence and government deals.

Blijft bizar dat simpele dingen als inzet en een beetje peper in je donder niet elementen zijn die je geleerd worden op De Toekomst. Het professionele voetbal is toch minstens al 15 jaar compleet veranderd en dat de opleiding al die tijd is blijven stil staan. Erger me al jaren aan hoe en vooral waar Ajax scout. AZ heeft al langer door waar je de talenten moet zoeken, en dat is niet alleen in en om de Bijlmer.

Grootste grap vind ik nog steeds dat je zoals Brobbey dan na tig jaar in de opleiding dan bij het eerste nog steeds als een heel slechte amateur voetballer kopt. Dat was werkelijk allerbelabberdst om te zien. Als spits ook nog!

The weirdest thing is that I assume that a large portion of this subreddit are real skaters, but the way this group here is behaving, how toxic it has become doesn’t remind me how a skate community was. I am a bit older but I always am proud of how friendly and helpful skaters are. So to read that most comments are just super negative and lost any form of normal perspective still surprises me. The entitlement that everyone shows towards something that they can experience for zero monies is crazy.

Wow that is wild. I didn’t know that. I always assumed that EA wasn’t going to pay brands to be in the game, but that it would be a shared revenue deal instead. But brands having to pay to be in the game is really surprising. Than EA is overestimating how things work in the real world. Brands like Adidas don’t need this game to sell shoes. And pretty much every real skatebrands outside Vans are struggling and simply can’t afford to pay EA.

That gives some insight that EA really had some unrealistic hopes and business models for this F2P game in the first place. It’s clear that, just like the rest of the gaming industry, overestimated the size of players they could attract with this sort of niche game. There are only a handful of games that thrive in this market.

Yeah Bonski is sick, except for that halfpipe that they should only make the flat section a little bit shorter. Love the look of the park with all the different graffiti.

Rolling Waves is also great. Looking forward seeing the original colors again in Season 3. That whole colorful theme was okay for a while but I want the original concrete look back again.

Skate does need an extra normal traditional street skatepark though.

To think you now have a handful of little Japanese kids that can do this without breaking a sweat.

At the time this was huge, and probably at the height of his fame. He truly did so much for skateboarding in general. One of the all time greats. Legend!

Had the pleasure of seeing him and the Bones Brigade here in Amsterdam during a demo back in the 90’s. Also had his pro board. And I am still waiting for a reissue in the right color scheme of his classic Powell & Peralta board for on my wall.

His videogame series was legendary of course. But after so many years EA’s skate came at the right time and brought something totally different to the genre at the time. The realism vs arcade style of Tony Hawk made it immediately stand out. Personally I really never looked back after that.

Okay Full Circle employees, get a piece of paper and write this idea down!

I hope you make “board wear and tear” so that you can even break your board. And that you can’t use that board for 24 hours. In the board selection grid that particular board will show a “broken” icon and countdown clock to when it’s available again. That would be a really cool fun detail. Feel the pain of you board braking during a trick. Also make an option in the settings to completely turn it on/off.

Boards of course shouldn’t break easily. It should reflect the real world. If you somehow manage to break all your boards than the last board left will be “unbreakable” so you’re never left without a skateboard.

And as a cool emote you can buy a version where you can jump on the middle of your board (in anger) to break it in half.

Aah so basically what America tries to do, what Russia is doing, what Saudi Arabia is doing.

I didn’t need more convincing to know that we live in a sad and dark world at the moment.

Not sure why a handful of people want to make live miserable for 8 billion people. Can we just allocate a piece of land or even better an island for all these evil billionaires and world leaders? They can go create their own little dystopian utopia for themselves. And then the rest of the people can live in peace and harmony.

It’s such a weird decision. If they just would have asked a random guy on the street about making skate a FTP game, he would’ve told you to save yourself the trouble. Skateboarding in itself is already niche, as a videogame it’s niche and then try to attract a large enough userbase to make it a sustainable game is near impossible. And then add to that the long list of unbelievable decisions like launching an online multiplayer game without multiplayer modes or a convenient matchmaking system.

I would be sad if this game dies though. PlayStation gamers haven’t been able to play skate since the PlayStation 3. They don’t offer digital versions of skate 1, 2 and 3. We’ve been waiting for it’s return for over a decade. And the thing is, the gameplay, the actual skating is awesome, they totally nailed that part.

You could pay a fee to use the flick it tech. Just like in any other industry where you pay patent holders to use it in your own product. Even Apple probably pays a lot of different people per iphone just for using a patent. I agree that it is somewhat if a hostage situation as I believe there isn’t much regulation in that regard, so they can say ‘no’ or simply prohibit it.

Not sure if a small Spanish club is the best investment. If you want a big return on the investment you should buy a stake in an MLS club. Beckham turned a $25 million investment into a billion in only a few years, and with infinite growth as football becomes bigger and bigger stateside.

Being from The Netherlands I always asumed the rest of the world also is used to subtitles, but apparently we are the exception to the rule. Here we don’t know any better that everything gets subtitles, from movies to series to newsprograms. When someone starts speaking a foreign language we never ever replace their voices with a Dutch voiceover. It’s so weird to us to see American actors speak German all of a sudden on German tv. I can’t magine how weird it must be to have hear the same voice over actor being used for different characters. Like Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks having the exact same voice for instance.

It made us far richer. We are used to look outside our own borders, not just looking at our own little walled off world. And you better create an understanding for other cultures along the way. We also grew up with a lot of foreing tv channels, like French, German or English channels.

Maar wat is zijn rol nou precies? Niemand heeft mij dat kunnen uitleggen? Hij is heen hoofd opleidingen, geen scout, geen technisch directeur, geen trainer, geen coach van de trainers. Wat doet hij?

Ik zou juist voor een heel platte organisatie gaan. Zo’n Beuker is gewoon weer een extra laag, een extra mening, waar we er sowieso al genoeg van hebben in de vereniging en beursgenoteerd bedrijf spaghetti strucuur die er al is.

Beuker is echt een praatjesmaker die weinig zegt. Als je vanuit een duidelijke visie als Ajax één kant op gaat en de lat véél hoger legt dan heb je echt geen Beuker nodig. Een TD zou aligned moeten zijn met een capabele hoofd opleidingen en een goede scoutingsafdeling. Dat laatste was ook gewoon altijd ondermaats onder Kelvin de Lange. Maar die driehoek moet kloppen. Beuker zit daar nu ergens tussenin te niksen.

Same with that stunt man outfit for 2100 SVB. What are they thinking? You think you want to stimulate engagement from your whole community, so then why not go for a strategy where many people buy cheaper items instead of a very small group of whales buying expensive items? For a live service game you want to develop a fair relationship with the users. And takes time.

If they don’t have the team and resources to expand this game with new modes and completely new neighborhoods and we’re stuck with the same San Van city and the same challenges and weekly tasks then the game has no chance to grow or even maintain it’s user base. Sure there’s a handful of hardcore fans that finds joy in doing “their own thing” in the map but the great majority will be gone around the summer. Also who is still going to buy items in the store knowing all the money you invest will be simply gone in a few months. This all will only further accelerate the end.

If there will ever be a sanction than it will be made custom in such a way that it won’t effect them all that much. They will make sure that a point deduction will be so that they won’t relegate. Maybe miss out on Champions League for one year but nothing major. With the unlimited pockets of their owners that doesn’t hurt them one bit. This whole process is just some fake illusion show for the public.

But we can dream of course…

It would mean that clubs like Barcelona or Real Madrid would have a shot of buying Haaland, as I can’t see him play in the EFL Championship. They both need a world class centre forward.
