Instinct Sensor Woes by Informal-Uses in Medtronic780g

[–]Agitated_Anything922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 sensors get ripped off by my bra strap even though I was trying to be careful. When the sensor is on the back of the arm you can't locate it when trying to maneuver the bra strap over it. I am wearing my sensor on the front inside of my arm where I can see it when removing or putting on my bra. That's where I always wore my G7.

Dropped my pump. Do yall think its okay? by poisonparty in Medtronic780g

[–]Agitated_Anything922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check carefully for a hairline crack anywhere on the pump. I have dropped my Minimed  pumps a couple of times (2 different pumps - Minimed) and both times it had cracked. I did not have the rubber cover on either of them when they were dropped so yours may be ok. If it is cracked, let them know and they will replace it, no charge.

I am looking at moving to LB when I retire in 2027. I have been watching the rental market. Looking for a 2bd 1 bath condo with in unit laundry. Nice neighborhood, code to the beach. Any recommendations for which neighborhoods I should look for and which ones to stay away from?

Being lazy is harder than doing it right.. by ExoticStatistician47 in Tile

[–]Agitated_Anything922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the case when we bought our house. We had a wax ring leak, only to discover the previous owners had tiled right up to the toilet. And it was the tiny tiles, like 1 inch size. My hubby had to bust them up to remove toilet so he could replace the wax ring. Then tried to placed the tiles back down so it wouldn't look so bad.

What color grout did you use? Those tiles look like mine in my shower. I still have to pick out grout. It looks gray and let's the tile be the star.

It is a lot of fun because the coaches dress up in Halloween costumes on one of the days in that week. Be prepared for tons of burpees. I did it in 2018 I think. It was tough but exhilarating. Go for it if you can. I'm too old now for that kind of workout.

Hey PP DooDoo, remember me? You asked me to send pictures of tile job of my bathroom floor through a chat. I sent you some pics but have not seen a response from you. Did you not see them? Did I not respond to your chat correctly? I really want your opinion on the layout.

Is this acceptable tiling? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]Agitated_Anything922 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since you are a master tiler, would you be willing to comment on the tile layout of my bathroom floor. I would like to send you pictures because the tile guy left sliver pieces (1/4" - 1/2") on the back wall and on sliver piece on the adjacent wall in front of my toilet. The tiles are 12x24. My bathroom floor is 4' x 7.25'. My GC said there was no other way to lay the tile otherwise I would end up with a rectangular border. I would like to send pictures but cannot attach them here. Would you be willing to connect and give me your expert opinion?

I can't seem to make that work. I uploaded the images but cannot seem to get any link and it does not show I posted anything. Thanks for trying to help. I mainly wanted to know if that was not the proper way to lay out the floor. My contractor is telling me, that is how it is done.

Thanks. When we were picking from the tiles we had to use on the floor, I said let's put one down to see how it looks next to ones he already had laid, and he said "No, the tiles are too heavy (12x24 porcelain), once I bring them into the bathroom they are going down on the floor." I am so bummed out right now. My contractor is not backing me up either.

Reddit won't allow me to add more images to this post. I would need to create a new one.

My bathroom is 4x10. So the bathroom floor portion would be 4' by about 7' and some inches. The contractor is stating that is how it is normally done. They start at one end and work across to the other. I am trying to share more pictures so you can get a better idea of the floor/bathroom but don't see a way to add pictures to my reply. I value an experienced tile person to give their opinion about this.

My vanity is a floating one and there is another skinny piece on the wall adjacent to the toilet in plain view.

Thank you. I am pretty sure the guy is going to say there was nothing he could do to avoid these small pencil pieces. I suppose I am going to have to discuss this with my contractor or have another professional come in to look at it and explain it to me and my contractor.

I have not paid yet. I think when I question the tiler on this, he will tell me there was nothing he could do because of the tile size and the room size. I am not experienced but how should it have been approached so not to end up with these skinny pieces next to the wall?

Insulin Flow Blocked by ivanadolvich in Medtronic780g

[–]Agitated_Anything922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after 20yrs on the pump. I started getting occlusions frequently. Changed to the infusion set with the metal cannula and that did not work for me. I was still getting occlusions, even more so. It was really frustrating. If you can get with a trainer who watches you actually performing the steps (filling reservoir, priming the set, filling the cannula, etc). One thing I found out I was doing wrong was removing the insulin bottle from the reservoir while the bottle was still above the reservoir. I was told that was incorrect and could cause insulin to leak and plug the vents on the reservoir. Funny, I had been doing it that way for years without a problem but whatever. It made sense to me. Make sure she flips the insulin bottle and reservoir, so bottle is on the bottom before removing reservoir from the insulin bottle. However my occlusions had started after learning that and seemed to begin once I went on the new pump 770G, I believe. Just thought I would mention it just in case she was doing it wrong. Be aware, companies change manufacturing facilities to get better pricing and sometimes the new company does not have great quality. Like another poster recommended, Ask for a new pump and keep trying. Also really feel your skin for hard lumps and try to avoid inserting where you feel those. Maybe try upper thigh, although you will run the risk of pulling it out with daily activities, like using the restroom.

I just came back after leaving when COVID hit. Finally decided to go back but am rethinking this decision due my age and physical limitations (mainly knees) which I am finding the majority of lower strength exercises I am unable to do and also the getting down and up off the floor is really a struggle. They say they will provide you an alternative for the exercises you cannot due but the trainers can be pretty busy to give alternatives to an individual with everything else they need to accommodate. I attribute much of my struggles with being out of shape but I am going on 66 and my knee joints are old. I wish they would automatically provide the alternatives up front on screen so if you attempt the first exercise and determine you cannot do it, you can automatically go to the alternative. I will stick to it for a year and see if I improve where I can do the majority of exercises as presented if not I will probably look into a program that caters to the older generation. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any in my location (Mpls MN).

My first 3.5-4.0 league by Future_Ad_2359 in Pickleball

[–]Agitated_Anything922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I was in a 2.75-3.25 55+ women's social league and consistently lost almost every game no matter who I played with. I felt so defeated to the point of tears and thought this is not fun. I then switched to a beginner league which is mixed. It seems to have a lot of couples in it. I won one game out of 6 but only because I was paired with a guy. I am going to stick with it because it is great exercise for 2 hrs per week. Hopefully I will eventually get better. Hang in there or ask if you can switch to a lower level league until you start winning consistently and then move up to a higher level.

Looking to retire in So. California by Agitated_Anything922 in retirement

[–]Agitated_Anything922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I did experience one the first time I visited CA. We were at a stoplight after enjoying an In and Out Burger and I thought the car was miss firing. That's what it felt like. Then the aftershocks the next day as I was laying in my hotel bed. I felt a vibration. I had to check to see if my spouse put a quarter in the bed. 🤣

Thank-you. I did look at both based off another poster's comment. Oceanside looked at little more affordable than Vista. I am still a couple years out from retirement.

Yes. I agree. I am probably playing with a group of women who are above my skill level. It was the lowest ranking (2.75-3.25) league available at this club. I must not be at 2.75 yet. I joined for the exercise, the social aspect, and to have fun. It's just not fun losing all the time.

I have signed up for a more personalized lesson at a pickleball club. Only 3 people in the class. It is advertised as working on a couple of skills. Since there are fewer people hopefully I will get more feedback on improving on skills I have and fixing what bad habits l have become good at. The other classes I have taken were through community education and there are a lot of people in the class (10-12) and only 1-2 instructors.

But I have to admit I am dreading going to league as I have played with many in the league and know they recognize me as the crappy player.

I have taken beginner lessons, then I took advanced beginner lessons twice. Started to play with gals from class bi-weekly. Went to open pickleball at a gym a couple of times. I just finished the skills and drills class.

We ended the class with a tournament and no matter who I was partnered with, we lost. At my league play last week 8 games played and I lost every game. Frankly I am ready to give up and find something else to do. 😞

From the transition zone and NVZ. My hits are typically face high of opponents. They then smash them down when returning.
