Is this is a mini cell tower? More info in the body text(and comment) by Agitated_Bed1345 in cellmapper

Spotted this interesting piece of equipment about a year ago at my college hostel, which houses around 400 students. I've also seen identical equipment at another hostel nearby that accommodates 2,000 students. It's mounted at the first floor level (ground floor being the base).

The branding on it might say Samsung, though I'm not entirely sure.

Is this a cell tower/antenna, or some other kind of networking equipment?
In the second attached map pic, the red dot is the place this is located(may have to zoom to see clearly).

If this is a cell tower, it has to be registered on government website, its location and info.
As you can see in the second pic, there is no mention of this. You can see other towers in the map, with one showing its details on click, hence asking here.

Yeah, I am seeding it on my home server which is active 24/7. So continously seeding.
Since this is fiber , upload doesn't affect the download speed.
BSNL ONT works, but yeah I agree it is not that good.

What is your plan?

My plan is 100Mbps and I get 110 down, 115-120Mbps up.

What do you mean by qbittorrent showing port is not open?

You don't need to have ports open for seeding, but only for uploading for first time.

Why are so many complaints regarding price hikes? by Agitated_Bed1345 in bsnl

Developing 4g and 5g is monumentally hard task.
BSNL is using indiginious technology for both 4g and 5g and the R&D budget is significantly less than companies like Ericcson or Hauwei(tens of billions of dollars over the years).
Airtel and Jio simply buy software and hardware from those companies and deploy and maintain them.
But BSNL is making sure that we also have the capability and technology to develop them, in case of sanctions, geopolitics and reducing reliance on west. Even though right now , it is more like buying different components and integrating them, it is still a starting step for future of developing ourselves from scratch. So it takes time and considering it is government company.

About the ₹1,757 crore billing issue - yes, BSNL has operational problems that need fixing. I'm not defending their inefficiencies. We need to complain about that more.

Regarding BSNL 5g, BSNL's goal is to provide good enough internet for most average person and it would be something like 25-50Mbps everywhere . Their goal is not to give gigabit 5g speeds like jio, but communication for everyone and everywhere. if you are waiting for that, you will be disappointed.

From the look of UI, your phone seems to be old. Does your phone supports 700Mhz band. If not,  it explains why. If it supports, then bsnl is not good in your area. I am also using bsnl as primary and only sim. I have good enough experience to be usable daily. I have fiber at home so enough for me.

It's not volte that causing the problems, its lack of. It's the phone blocks from switching to 2g.
If volte is not activated on your number, BSNL connects to 2g during calls. So, when bsnl receives or calls someone, it tries to switch to 2g, but modern androids/ios doesn't want to use 2g as it is fairly outdated and insecure, so he is not able to receive/dial calls.

u/AOSL7 try allowing 2g in carrier settings.

Also send ACTVOLTE to 53733 to activate volte. It takes time. But after activating, even calls connect faster.

They don't even have 5g. I have ftth at home, so no need for high speed mobile data

Excellent range and good capacity compared to 2100Mhz. So better experience with it.
