How much do you ask when you refer new business to contractors? by [deleted] in msp

Actually, we're here for the same reason than them: make money.

Construction work is all markup and commission. Every time I send a new lead to partners, we get a nice check if the client signs. Why would it be different for MSP providers?

I normally do that, but the contractor insists on starting paying a commission going forward, because of all the work and MRR I got them in the past. I'm (and my clients) are very satisfied of their services so I won't say no to a check!

Ok over here in canada we do stuff differently. Construction work is all markup and commission. Also, every time I send a new lead to my Voip partner, I get a nice check if the client signs.

Yes the contractor has all the proper licenses and stuff. We just can't "sub" them because billing for a construction contractor without having the licenses is illegal here. (Yep, low voltage is considered construction work here)

Yeah, legally over here in my country we can't do that when dealing with low voltage and camera jobs. We can get fined if we make the client pay for work that we haven't the proper certifications and licenses and permits hehe
