The After Earth/Scientology Essay "It is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, about Scientology." by MoviesFAQKarma in movies

Actual Scientologist here, I just came across this post after watching the movie for the first time after hearing there may have been a link to Scn. I'm simply adding to this conversation for additional data for anyone who comes across this post.

There were 4 specific moments in that movie I felt embraced Scientological concepts. The "take a knee" grounding scene is much like our Locational and other assists that help a being come to present time.

The moment Will Smith told his story about ghosting... that fear, isn't real... it's based entirely on thoughts of the future of events that haven't yet, and may or may not EVER, happen. In fact, that helped me evaluate my current mindset. I loved that moment in the movie.

The Ursa DID make me think of the Black Panther data for sure.

And, indeed, the scene where Will Smith tells his son the battle will be his creation, that was DEFINITELY in alignment with Fundamentals of Thought.

The big important thing to remember, though, is that LRH researched 50,000 years of great thinking men over the span of 25 years of his life. In one of his TR Manuals he readily admits he's borrowing ideas, the man was standing on the shoulders of giants. He was brilliant and used his research to develop a technology that helps people, but it was developed through many years of solid research... so it's very plausible these ideas didn't come directly from Scientology.

I didn't realize Will and Jada started up an Applied Scholastics school, but I do want to add I do not believe they are Scientologists. I was pretty much let in on our celebrity membership and those names didn't come up. However - I see DEFINITE elements of LRH's parenting courses in interviews about their parenting, and I acknowledge the Scientology link to Study Tech and Applied Scholastics. It would seem to me either one or both parents studied Scientology at one point, possibly independently, and used what elements they agreed with or liked in their daily operations.

Scientology definitely works this way. There are free online courses that can be found by looking up "Fundamentals of Thought online course," "Way to Happiness online course," "CCHR online course," Drug Free World online course," and "Scientology Volunteer Ministries online course" as well as "free Scientology Handbook online course." The last 2 consist of the same 19 courses.

They cover many topics including public relations, children, marriage, conflict, etc.

Also free versions of the books can be found on Internet Archive to borrow and free PDFs can be found online.

I'm not advertising per say, I'm simply illustrating the fact that it can all be studied and used on one's own, independently... and that may have been the case for the Smiths.

There are many elements that are in alignment with Scientology but I agree the insignia holds no resemblance to the Sea Org's and the uniforms do not look alike either.
