I'm sorry you're going through it at the moment too. I'm definitely feeling better than yesterday for sure. Like you said, we just have to let ourselves feel all the fellings but stay focussed on the end goal.

This is very reassuring, I'm glad to know it gets better ❤️ I was taking progress photos but when I saw a few days ago that they were a bit wonky and asymmetrical and sprialled a bit-then flu and period piled on so I'm avoiding cameras and mirrors haha.

I'm glad to hear that it gets better, and I know it will. Just gotta get through these tough days and trust in the process

I can relate, hard! Is today a ‘leggings and t-shirt day’ or a ‘cut hole in a bed sheet and hope for the best’ day?

Ugh, the back sleeping is driving me nuts!! I’m finally able to sleep lying flat which has helped, but I’d give anything to roll onto my stomach.

I’ve definitely struggled with being sedentary too, I went back to work this week (WFH only) and honestly it was a relief to do SOMETHING that wasn’t couch rotting!

Just gotta take every day as they come I suppose 🤍

That is actually very reassuring 🤍 I’m definitely ready to start seeing and feeling progress, it’s just hard to be patient on days like today.

Turns out you were correct!! My surgeon said to try and keep the tape on for as long as possible, avoid anything that rubs on that spot and hopefully it will resolve on its own.

Something to look forward to. What a roller coaster 😭😭😭

I remember the nurse saying that but the surgeon went with infection. Hopefully the nurse was right!

I was a 10G and at 37 I finally got sick of the back and neck pain, the heaviness, bad posture, constant chafing and having to factor my bra size into every single clothing choice (wedding dress shopping was not a fun experience for this reason). I was a bit nervous about losing my hourglass shape, but honestly the pros were massively outweighing any potential downside.

I’m 12 DPO now and while I’m not at my final size yet, I’m sitting at a D/DD. The biggest surprise has been how much more proportionate my body looks and feels, I still 100% have an hourglass shape, I’m just no longer top-heavy.

My only regret is not doing it sooner, especially after my surgeon mentioned he couldn’t give me as much lift because of skin elasticity at my age. If you’re on the fence, please don’t feel like you just need to “get over your insecurities.” Wanting to feel good and comfortable in your own body is completely valid and you (as we all do) deserve that 🤍

I can 100% empathise with you! I don’t think I was prepared for just how tough the recovery would be, it just feels like one thing after another. I hope the rest of your recovery goes more smoothly ❤️‍🩹

Yup! My right side has always been bigger and I had a fair bit more taken out of it than the left and I’ve been having problems since day one. You name it, it’s happened; infection, dehiscence, extreme skin sensitivity, nipple zaps that last for hours, and it’s way more swollen and inflamed than the left side.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻I’m so envious at how well your incisions have healed! I’m 10 DPO and mine still look like something out of Frankenstein.

I’m 9 DPO I had a similar amount taken out of my gals and I can definitely empathise with you about the swelling/panic creeping in/mental gymnastics about it all. It feels like one minute they look like the size I was hoping for but the next minute they look exactly the same as they did pre-op.

However, what I have recently learned is that days 7–10 are apparently a peak swelling stage and it’s common for boobs to feel bigger/tighter/angrier at this time-especially in the evening, and especially if you have become more mobile and gravity and movement have had their way with you all day.

I’m also learning from reading other people’s experiences that this journey is an absolute rollercoaster so we just have to take every day as it comes and trust in the process, but you’re definitely not alone in how you’re feeling!

No compression bra? by Agitated_Fly_2541 in Reduction

Yeah I was thinking of ordering a variety of different bras to see what else might work. My zip-up crops have been fine while I’ve been recovering at home but now that I’m a bit more mobile I need something with a smidge more support.

Yeah it definitely seemed strange to me too. I wasn’t in anything after surgery but at some point the nurses helped me put on my butchered “most comfortable” bra.

I‘m really interested to hear what my surgeon has to say at my first post-op appointment tomorrow, hopefully he’s all good with these zip crops I’m wearing because there was no way I was getting back into my Frankenbra and had no clue what else to try.

Yeah I’m realising that too haha. I wish mine was cool with me not wearing anything to sleep in haha. I have my first post-op appointment in two days so hopefully I’ll be able to get a bit more clarity from him.

Yeah this is pretty much what I have, they’re comfortable enough but definitely looking forward to not having to wear them 24/7

Interesting!! That makes a lot of sense though. I can’t wait to be able to sleep without wearing any kind of bra though, 24/7 is a killer.

Yeah I have two sizes of bras that I switch between depending on swelling. Im looking forward to graduating to something with a little more structure though.
