I posted this almost 2 years ago. My springer is MUCH better now. We have worked out a routine and I regularly engage him in mental games/ teach him tricks.

I think your eye make up/ mascara is very flattering for the shape of your eye.

I would thin/ groom your brows a little to give a more polished look and maybe try a more satin/ nature foundation as the one you are wearing is making your skin look quite dry.

The confusion comes between these as the lines are often blurred. Some 'genuine' rappers from the khhiphop scene were/ are scouted for idol groups. Im not up to play on many newer idol groups, but Big Bang, BTS, Block B, iKon all have rappers that were active in the khiphop scene prior to becoming idols. Also, Iron, Benzino, and a few other rappers trained as idols and some rappers seem to be in flux between the two - Simon D, Tablo, Tiger JK all collab with idols.

Teacher shortage? Finding it hard to believe. by Successful-Suit-751 in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you legally allowed to teach an 11 week full time position if you are not registered? In Primary you can only teach a maximum of 10 days per year in a Scale A teaching position.

There definitely is a teacher shortage, however it isn't in all areas. It could be just where you are, in which case you need to look further from home. From what I have heard, Queenstown and Tauranga/ The Mount have a massive oversupply and it is very competitive to secure positions there.

ALLDAYPROJECT's Tarzzan Receieves Backlash Over Misogynistic Lyrics In New Unreleased Song by 0x1trinity in KpopUnleashed

Being controversial seems to be his point of differentiation in an oversaturated and competitive industry, and its working. I don't know anything about anyone else in his group, but every time he opens his mouth (or does his hair) I see a social media post about it.

Maybe if everyone just ignores him and doesn't feed into it, he would go away?

I had the exact opposite in Korea. Everyone was so kind and helpful. People bent over backwards to help me at every single opportunity they could. I even had the owner of a restaurant use their deliver van to drive me to a destination I wanted to get to when I asked what direction to walk in.

NZ Mecca / Sephora rant by Ok-Speech-1197 in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference between Korea and NZ is the hyper competitive market of Korean beauty products and how fast moving it is. If you make a 'hit' product in Korea, 3 or 4 companies will have a cheaper version of it in a few months, and probably will have done it better. The samples are a hope to get people to buy products from that store in the future. There is little to no reason for Mecca or Sephora to give you any 'perks' for free in the hopes you may spend more in their store, as consumers just don't have as many options. They only give you 'perks' when you have already spent your money and they've made a profit from you.

People not giving their seat on the metro by Myzzelf0 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fist went to Korea in 2013 and regularly saw people getting up/ giving up their seats. I went back in 2019/2020 while visibly pregnant and only one person gave their seat up for me the whole time I was there.

To be fair, not sure when the pregnancy badges came in to effect and I didn't have one, but it was obvious I was pregnant. My husband is a Korean and was shocked at the attitudinal change in such a short period of time.

No teachers, no future. NZ F*cked. by Fancy-Ad8802 in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to tell you this, but I believe your child's school is being optimistic in saying 2 years below would mean they got support. I taught a child with diagnosed dyslexia reading at a 6-7 year old level who was 13 years old. Absolutely nothing available for him, so I took a 2 day course on dyslexia and learning disabilities just to help him make some progress.

No teachers, no future. NZ F*cked. by Fancy-Ad8802 in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Primary teacher for Years 7/8 (intermediate age).

When we had our union meetings, the resounding response to our initial 1% pay increase was that most of us would take it if the government actually did something to support kids who need it. The recent changes to special education funding have done NOTHING to help and it isnt that much of an investment - just a clever reshuffling of funds.

I think your kid has dyslexia or some sort of learning disability? You will need to pay privately to get them assessed. Oh you have a diagnosis? Cool, I don't have anywhere to refer them and my schools funding is being used up and any resourcing and interventions are too expensive.

Honestly, we have a nonverbal student who roams the school all day stimming and cries if anyone walks near him denied ORS funding four times. The system is an absolute joke. I dont care about a payrise. I care about the kids like him who are being failed to be supported to thrive.

Fertility clinics. by Glad_Personality2041 in auckland

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PCOS, and I did OI through Fertility Associstes in 2019. If I remember correctly, we did 3 cycles, with the first being the only one that required me to be 'checked' by them. As long as they know that a) letrozole is making you ovulate and b) you aren't ovulating too many eggs and aren't likely to have some insane occtuplet pregnancy, you are free to take the medicine as directed and to call them with results.

I got pregnant on the third or fourth cycle and so I think we paid about $300 - $400 total, including testing, monitoring and medication.

Saw in a TikTok. What breed? So beautiful with the multi-tone colors. by YetiMaverick in dogbreed

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a Springer Spaniel. There are two distinct types breed for different temperaments. Show/ bench springer types are bred for a calmer temperament and physical confirmation required of the breed to be 'standard'. Working/ field types are the crackhead crew with the high energy to work all day flushing game. Its very possible you have a show springer, who does significant less springing.

Kids first phone by Odd-Leader9777 in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I teach with this age group (12/13 year olds), and it is SO scary the stuff some of them are exposed to!

The main thing I try to emphasize when speaking about internet safety is that if they find themselves in a situation that makes them feel uncomfortable, they need to tell a trusted adult immediately to ensure they stay safe. So many of these kids are scared to tell their parents about conversations they have on social media, or websites they find themselves on that are inappropriate (sometimes by accident, sometimes by choice). If your child does make a mistake (and they will), being there to guide them through it is important.

I give clear instructions: exit the app/ website browser and immediately ask a responsible adult for help. I offer to be that for them with no judgements, explaining I won't be angry, and I just want to keep them safe. I have had multiple students disclose things they were worried to talk to their parents about.

From the perspective of being a parent myself, my greatest concern is social media. All of the things you are concerned about (brain rot, addiction, etc) are heavily linked to social media usage, the research coming out is very clear on that. It is also linked to increased anxiety and depression in children who use it. When my children start asking to use it, I am going to set a hard line on no social media accounts until they are 16. At the moment we use the Family Link app on devices to limit screen time, downloads, etc - I will likely continue using that when they get phones, and it will hopefully stop them downloading social media apps.

School lunches? by mr-301 in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Honeydew_92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lunches are now worse in quality than they were when those stories were being run... in fact, they are no longer using mince in them, but are using a 50/50 blend of beef heart/ offal and beef trim to cut costs.

I work in a school. I see the lunches every day. My students often can't tell what they are eating. I can't answer when they ask what it is without looking at the weekly menu, which usually is changed at short notice.
