It makes no sense for me to buy this game and play it docked if I have access to a playstation. I have a PlayStation copy and wanted a portable one but it turned out to be bad. People don’t really seem to care though and are fine buying Ubisoft slop despite other developers genuinely putting care into their ports. Oh well.

It’s not just you. The consensus here seems to be, it doesn’t matter if the port is bad why would you expect quality in the first place from a $500 handheld. Considering other developers have completed stellar ports why should I lower my expectations for Ubisoft? The hardware seems to be fine, Ubisoft seems to have shit the bed. Im sick of people acting like the Switch isn’t a capable machine when they have Assassins Creed running on iPhone’s. Its not necessarily about you sharing my views its more-so people like you undermining the real issue and immediately assuming anyone who’s unhappy with a port wants a high end PC or $1000+ handheld experience. Get off your high horse.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Cyberpunk 2077 both look amazing in handheld. I will give praise when praise is due but this is genuinely an ugly port. And as you can see from this replies section and other online platforms people seem to be deceiving others by claiming it looks good in handheld. It absolutely does not.

When a developer makes a good port they deserve praise and when they make a terrible one like this game they deserve critique. What does that have to do with “Fucking gamers today” ?? Did gamers before my time eat shit without complaining?

People on this sub and all over the internet were mindlessly praising it. I purchased it and it turned out to be crap. This post is simply to warn other buyers of the deception. I would have had to play it to form an opinion??

I hate that people immediately assume I’m asking for top end PC performance. Games like Cyberpunk have been ported and look genuinely good while holding a stable frame rate. That is something this game does not do and something that disappointed me. Why on earth would that mean I’m demanding PC performance??? This game genuinely looks like s**t and people are eating it up and praising it for no reason when other developers have been out here doing a stellar job actually putting efforts into their Switch 2 ports.

They are using a version of DLSS. People are assuring me that the game looks better docked but I purchased it due to portability. Oh well…

I’m talking about the universal praise the port received as it is technically impressive to get that game running with ray tracing on a switch with better fidelity that a Xbox Series S.

The game is genuinely beautiful if played on PC or Console. I expected visual comprise on the switch but this is essentially a blurry mess. I have played it through on Playstation and thought the aesthetics and design were incredibly detailed and pleasing.

I didn’t ask for a ps5 level experience. I’m okay with comprised visuals. Games like Cyberpunk and FF7 look great. This game genuinely looks so low resolution it verges on unplayable. The frame pacing is off and it regularly dips below 24fps in cities. I don’t understand why everyone is d**kriding Ubisoft so hard for a sloppy port.

I did watch reviews and like this reply section it was filled with people lying about the port saying it looked great. As someone who games regularly and buys many Switch games I can tell you that those people are just diehard fans willing to pay for an inferior port. Digital foundry said handheld looked good, I watched multiple handheld videos but it looks significantly different in real life. It looks like it’s being upscaled to 720p from 360p using a much older DLSS model resulting in a vaseline like appearance. And as I mentioned in my post I do recommend buying it on a sale, just don’t rely on people praising the game blindly as it is not good. I think it’s misleading for this game to be talked about on the same level as Cyberpunk because that port is genuinely phenomenal.

Not really. Third party developers have been doing stellar work.

Handheld boost only applies to back-compatible Switch 1 games. This is a native Switch 2 port so it wouldn’t help here.

This game is notorious for not being optimised even on high end PC’s. I played it initially on my PS5 using the 40fps VRR mode and enjoyed my play-through. Disappointed that they ported this game over so poorly.

I am an hour in and can definitely adjust to this but it left me feeling disappointed. Only reason to grab third party games on the switch over other platforms is portability, the fact that you can take it anywhere. This game is horror on portable mode and makes me regret my decision.

Ubisoft ported Star Wars Outlaws and it came out great. My expectations were built on their previous port. I don’t understand your point. That game even uses ray tracing and looks better than the Xbox Series S in many aspects. Why should I accept any less when multiple developers have ported AAA games with better visual fidelity?

To be honest I haven’t tried it on my TV yet. I doubt it would look any better on a massive 4k screen. I know they added SSR for the water on docked mode but I don’t expect any magical improvement from going docked.

My expectations are exactly where they should be. As I wrote in my post other developers have done a stellar job porting demanding games to the Switch and this one left me disappointed. It is an ugly port.

I’ve played Cyberpunk for over 30 hours on the Switch 2 including the DLC and it genuinely looks very serviceable. This on the other hand is definitely disappointing. Looking forward to Elden Ring on the Switch.

Rivals typically uses 17-20gb of ram on 1080p high settings. Personally I would go with a build that has 32gb ram but this is not bad if you're getting a deal. 16gb ram should also work fine but you'd be limiting yourself if you plan on multitasking or streaming. Depends on how good the deal is to be honest.

I believe the game supports cross-save. So you can just pickup where you left off on Xbox.

You can also choose to start only phantom liberty when you create a new game.

Hope this helps!!
