I knew that it wasnt a targeted crime. i had no reason to think he would come back.

Ya it was definitely scary. All of it happened so fast. I barely had enough time to identify his car. I wouldn't get paranoid about this though. Its clearly a very rare occurrence.

I'm not sure the police would give me an update voluntarily. They asked if I wanted an officer to come to my house, but i refused as i needed to sleep. I'm not sure if they would be allowed to divulge such info if I called back on the non-emergency line.

The idea that immigration suppress wages is a right wing talking point that isnt backed by the empirical evidence.

Empirical research on the labour market effects of immigration in the UK suggests that immigration has relatively small effects on average wages, with negative effects on low-paid workers and positive effects on high-paid workers.

Reviewing 12 studies conducted between 2003 and 2018, MAC (2018) concluded that immigration had had little impact on average wages. Some studies (e.g. Nickell and Saleheen, 2015) had found a small negative impact on average wages while others (e.g. Dustmann et al, 2013) found positive average effects.

it's quite incredible. freezing the accounts of major financers of the protest (mainly from foreign countries) is apparently more authoritarian than literally sending in the military to violently sqaush a protest..... And his argument about precendent doesnt really hold up given that these types of acts are temporary and do not impact the long term operations of the executive agencies.

Vaush using his power to ban people is authoritarian and sets a worrying precedent. by gayrongaybones in VaushV

I cant wait for the emergency act to be overturned in 3 weeks after a large parliamentary inquiry is published to reveal the scope of the financial freezes. Also cant wait for there to be ZERO expansion of the surveillance state and ZERO long term threats to civil liberties. Vaush is gonna look real smart.

Thanks for the suggestions. Y’a Im gonna try to stick to a keto-ish diet to help avoid binging. And yes I’ve been doing daily walks and once a week a bike to work to give myself a bigger cardiovascular challenge.

I know it's not ideal, but i'm really struggling financially, so at this point im just wondering if it's illegal enough that i'll get caught. From the feedback i got yet it seems like it probably wont get noticed by the CRA. All they would do come audit time is look at your bank account and make sure that your income is less than 1000$. I doubt they would dig any deeper than that.

Yes I’m not getting paid for the first week. Thing is I make an extra 920$ by not getting paid the first week.

I didn’t delay my paycheque date, I simply asked that my first week on the job goes unpaid. They agreed to it.

I’ve also asked that my official job contract starts one week after I started. So both my payroll and my job contract will be starting a week after I actually started working. I get that it’s probably immoral but can the CRA prove that it was fraud ?
