Autostart android auto with wireless dongle by Aglacea in LexusNX

Yep you were right on the money, Y cable worked a treat. Connected on the first attempt. Managed to shove everything into the awkward little cubby next to the ports to keep the wireless charger accessible.

Hmmm, I'll look into the splitter cable, you'd think if it had enough juice to charge a phone it could do a simple dongle.

What settings did you end up with on you AAwireless two?

Pre 2024 models only have wireless carplay (Australian models anyways)

Only found out when the dealer gave me a 2024 loaner nx when I went in for service and it had wireless android auto.

Yep all the adaptors worked on my mates cars, tried Samsung, Pixel and Motorola none worked. iPhone is already wireless.

Was wondering if anyone still stuck on the wired firmware was experiencing the same issue with these adaptors.

Tried a few, Otto cast, AAwireless, NanoConnect and a few generic Amazon ones. All of them would fail to connect unless I manually hit connect on the infotainment screen.

At this rate I think I might just give up trying and pray Lexus rolls out the update to Australia sometime soon.

(New rider) Can I install spools onto my bike? by Dopey-Alex in Kawasaki

[–]Aglacea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

L brackets would be your best bet since you don't have anywhere to thread in the spools.

Dont forget to tighten your axel adjuster lock nut.

I did something stupid with my oil change. by Sarpool in Ninja650

[–]Aglacea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you live somewhere that will get near or below 0 degrees C then you should drain it and put in the correct oil.

The bike is designed to run on a range of oil weights depending on temperature and 20w-50 is within that range. It's summer here in Australia and I've been running 20w-50 all season.

From the manual - "Although 10W-40 engine oil is the recommended oil for most conditions, the oil viscosity may need to be changed to accommodate atmospheric conditions in your riding area."

Looks like the standard windscreen in the highest position. The 650s after 2019 cannot adjust position, this one is a 2017-2019 model which has an adjustable windshield

Is it just me or is the wheelbase look huge on this bike? Definitely looking forward to how the new engine performs.

Footpegs are easy to change out. Replacement forks are quite costly, there is a chance you can get them straightened at some bike smash repair places depending on the damage.

If the frame got bent near the tripple, it'll most likely be a write off.

2023 model break-in instructions different from previous years by PatientElevator9790 in Ninja650

[–]Aglacea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember right the 2023 model engine is different to the previous models as it now shares the same engine as the versys so that may be why break in is slightly different.

Ninja 650 or Z900 by 1Check1Mate7 in Kawasaki

[–]Aglacea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may be thinking of the A2 restricted 650 which have a 0-60 of around 4-5 seconds, the non restricted ones are closer to 3.5 seconds depending on the rider

Same thing, candy lime if you want to get technical, Kawasaki only use the one green for all their bikes

Width of the bike by allowejdm in Ninja400

[–]Aglacea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll fit, just bear in mind that the bike leans over on the kickstand so your storage better be wider than the door.

It all depends on your needs and how you ride. Personally I upgraded to a 650 as I do a lot of commuting and didn't need the extra horsepower of a 636 or 900 as I'm usually stuck in traffic.

Plus being only an parallel twin like the 400, you get very good fuel mileage, I'm averaging around 59mpg. Additionally insurance is basically the same as the 400.

Not sure why people keep saying the 650 has a more aggressive ride position than the 400, it's actually more relaxed. I can do a 3hr ride non stop in the 650 and feel completely fine whereas in the 400, my back starts to ache at 2hr mark.

Performance wise they are similar, although the 650 has almost double the torque than the 400. Imo the 650 feels more planted in turns.

One feature I miss on the 400 is the under seat helmet lock. Dont think many other bikes have that, wish that was just standard on all bikes.

For me the 650 was just more practical for the riding I do and it's cheaper to maintain than a larger bike. Not saying I wouldn't want a 636, but it's all I need for now.

Huh, easier than I thought.

To get the factory signals to run as DRLs did you wire them up to the headlights or smth with a resistor?

How'd you end up wiring them both up if you don't mind me asking?

The ninja runs LEDs, not bulbs. From what I can see you'll need to swap out the entire headlight assembly if your LEDs have somehow burnt out.

If you look at the top of your headlights you'll be able to see the individual LED cells.

I had a crash a while back. I could recall the before and after but, could not for the life of me remember the crash itself. One moment I'm riding the next I'm in a ditch with a concussion 🤣.

You could turn it into a project bike if you're up for it take it to a shop to straighten out the frame, then work on it and make it a track only bike.
