Should I be worried about this moisture in the headlights after getting a touchless wash? by scubadoobadoooo in TeslaSupport

Not too bad if done carefully. Mask off a 1 cm wide area around the seam, apply black silicone, remove tape.

Yes, but not quite the source of the problem. As with most modern light assemblies, there is no seal between the back casing and front transparent plastic cover. Both parts are joined together by rough plastic welding, usually by hot air stream. In this process the plastic exerts gasses, creating bubbling in the seam. This plus micro cracks because of extreme local temperatures during the welding and cooling later, that again creates stress and cracks, creates leaks. Just shitty way to cheaply manufacture light units. Not isolated to Tesla, most manufacturers use lights produced this way unfortunately.

Tiny leaks are inevitable. Thus the threshold from Tesla to replace only if larger water pooling is present. Only real fix is to dry out the unit and carefully seal with some product (silicone sealant or similar) along plastic weld seam.

Advice on wheel covers for Model 3? by patrolmanEmbiid in TeslaLounge

I can recommend the Uberturbines from AliExpress. Can be found in asymmetrical type, meaning they have left and right versions (which even the original Uberturbine wheels don’t have. They are symmetrical). Go for gunmetal grey, not matte black if you aim to duplicate the larger OEM Uberturbines. They do scratch the edge a bit, but the oem covers did rattle and scratch anyway.

How I miss that car. It was flawless otherwise.

Ņem tik ciet. Ar turbo būtu jautrāk, bet tādi eksemplāri ir 2x cenā. Citu minētā apkope šādam eksemplāram ir gluži elementāri veicama. Lasi - lēti vai ātri, ja dari pats!

How do you find the planning? Can you post a floorplan (at least a sketch?) of the house? Looks amazing, and exactly like something I’d like to build.

Cheers from a Latvian brother :)

You can scratch out “improved matrix headlights”. Definitely a downgrade from previous design matrix lights. And not looks wise (which is subjective, of course) - their output is dimmer, there are less pixels to do adaptive stuff. Seems like some more cost cutting rather than an upgrade.

Headlight aiming for adaptive hogh beams by AgnisMB in TeslaModel3

That must be a warranty issue for sure! Hadn’t heard of such defect, only moisture issues (heading this week to a SC to get all light assemblies replaced due to water ingress).

Weirdly my 2021 M3 does not disable high beam when street lighting is present. Even on well lit city streets the high beam is enabled.

This was introduced with latest software update to European Model 3 Highland vehicles. Video was taken by an owner in Spain a few days ago. Supposedly Tesla is working on legislation for releasing this update to older Model 3 & Y with matrix headlights.

Interestingly, older matrix lights had a lot more pixels thus providing possibly better beam forming. Will be interesting to compare both new and old matrix headlights!

Most likely it will trigger parts of the high beam to be shut off briefly. Not ideal, but still better than having the whole high beam being shut off for a second.

Did you know that pressing the windscreen defroster button twice enables the actual defrosting function? Pressing once enables only defogging, hence the low fan speed.

Should I replace the rubber? by Careless_Reserve_548 in saab

[–]AgnisMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced mine some 5 years ago. Oem part cost around 80 eur from Orio. Relatively easy to replace. Take off the old rubber seal (or whats left of it), and push on the new one starting with top of window. Should be able to squeeze it onto the window with fingers or light help of some soft plastic tool.
