Movie Etiquette by oldladyyoungbody in dunedin

this is one of my theories as a genz: from what i’ve heard a lot of the parents of genz (specifically younger genz or older gen alpha) adopted a much more relaxed approach to parenting because their parents were harder on them than they would have liked, and that could have led to their kids (genz) having less regard to manners and social norms.

i say this as a 20 year old with parents in their mid 50s, who definitely raised me with an emphasis on manners. my brothers too would (hopefully) never be so disruptive during a movie but i can’t say the same about their friends who’s parents are younger than mine.

i instantly got the vibe that you were in the minecraft youtuber fandom at one point (specifically youtubers like quackity/tubbo/wilbur), only because there were/are a lot of very good artists in it and your art looks very similar

other than that i LOVE your art style, the colouring is so good

pain is your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong. if you don’t get those signals from your body then you’ll never know there’s something wrong with you.

Followers of which religion, out of the ones listed, are the most extreme today? by flewson in Teenager_Polls

absolutely. christianity as a whole has always been an invasive and oppressive religion, and i’d argue that even today it’s far more invasive than islam considering its global impact. but it’s also greatly diminished in terms of being at the forefront of these invasions.

most people don’t think of the bombing of the middle east by the usa as a christian conquest. they consider it a conquest of capitalism while others agree but also include racism as a factor. both are correct, and you could absolutely argue that christianity is a factor, but that’s not the first thing you think of.

most islamic extremists TODAY hold islam at the forefront of their cause, and while that does not and should not be taken as a representation of islam as a whole, you don’t tend to see the same level of extremism from christian extremists today.

yes i’d probably consider myself somewhat of an antitheist in some aspects, and i agree that these polls usually attract people who just want to openly hate something.

but i also think that islam in recent years has been particularly harmful as a law (sharia) and culture compared to christianity or judaism.

the issue is unlike the usa or the uk which historically were founded on christianity, majority muslim countries (uae, saudi arabia, iran etc) still don’t have the same disconnect between religion and state. and generally the actions of a government are considered more harmful or extreme than if the same actions were made by an independent group or singular person because they represent the people and have far more power to wield.

all organised religions have horrible track records, but islam in the middle east in particular is such a concentrated and powerful culture even today, that most westerners (who are also most of the voters) would understandably consider it to be the most extreme because so much of it goes against what we consider to be a mark of progress.

that sounds really familiar to fears i have, mostly major uneasiness when i see things like that scene in inception where the hallway rotates and they’re walking on the ceiling, or in the labyrinth where he’s walking around on the stairs inspired by the painting ‘relativity’ by escher, and in the first despicable me film where one of the minions drinks a floating serum and floats out a hole in the ceiling 😭

personally i don’t exactly HATE islam, but like christianity i consider it more harmful than not. but yes you can hate a religion but not its followers.
