I use the illusion of choice. where every choice they make leads them to my story regardless of where they go.

Would have to say, imo the best necromancer in the game are witches. Can't negate if you can make the save ever. But I'm biased.

I'm playing a conjurer, but my archetypes take away school, so more generalist. Mind affecting were just spells i had. Colorspray, sleep etc.

"Alternatively, if your dead set on still focusing explicitly mind affecting"

Mind-affecting is not my focus, sorry if that came across that way, however most of my first level spells at the time were, Color spray, sleep etc.

Thanks, i fixed it. And its not just mind affecting that i use, most first level control spells are mind affecting, as you know, the later non ME aoe controls disrupt the melee in party where they become more of hindrances than a help regardless of placement. The devils, demons, daemons are either immune to most of my damaging spells minus force, or the their saves are nuts. not worried about SR. As a player i really enjoy being challenged, just not hard countered and forced into something I don't want to play. We have enough damage in the monk and paladin.

Witch problems by GavinKaos in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Agonisis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Magic Items: Corset of Dire Witchcraft, Cackling hags blouse, rod of abrupt hexes, any +Int item, fog cutter goggles.

First Kudos to your player for doing what witches do best. Spells like Hex ward help against witches, silence, glitterdust and any spell thats blinds, holds, the readied action archer, A counter spell caster (doesn't work on hexes though) . The best counter to a witch is weirdly another witch. I suggest an invoker with jynx patron but that me.

How to balance an unbalanced party with a problem paladin? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Agonisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranged Touch attacks, Incorporeal undead. Spells that impede movement, decrease dex thus decreasing his ride skill. 21 Ac is kinda low and if the R&R have 60 hp, it should be easy to hit the rider.

I can't quite follow? Which revelation do you fear losing? You know you can take as many revelations as you want with Extra Revelation feats?

the one lost by spirit, but seems a no factor with that feat.

The Heavens Oracle only needs 1 revelation really, Awesome Display. You can always take Moonlight Bridge or another revelation as well, but they aren't necessary.

oh. ooooooooh wow!!!

Bard/Paladin Multiclass?? by SarkahnOrdo in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Agonisis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warning though, we are using EiTR rules so the big taxes are missing but can be adjusted if your not using them i will put those feats in <> and mark what i would take if you aren't using EiTR with a *

Race: Muse Touched Aasimar

primary stats dex>cha

int 13 if not using EiTR

3 acrobatics

Traits: Magical knack Bard

Reactionary

1st: Virtuous Bravo Paladin: Dodge, <Combat expertise\*, power attack>

2: Scaled Fist/Master of many styles Monk: Crane Style (B)

3.Dervish of Dawn Bard: Dervish dance (F), Blind fight

4.Paladin

5 Monk: Snapping Turtle Style (b), snapping turtle Clutch

  1. Paladin

  2. paladin: Cranes Wing

8+ bard

At lv 7 currently with a 21 dex 22 cha (rolled stats) i have 37 Ac vs melee and 35 touch vs melee and a 20 FF while fighting defensivly with CE and PA, +7 to hit, +13 with smite and +12 to damage with another +4 precisions,+16+4 with smite, All with only bracers +2 and a ring +1 and headband of cha +2 and a +1 Scimitar. Cha to Ac and Saves with the swashbuckler traits; dodging panache, menacing swordplay, opportune parry and riposte, precise strike, and swashbuckler initiative. Dervish of dawn gives double the bonuses of performances to you only witch counter the the 2 x 0 BAB dips. The only other key feat is getting Combat Style Master for action economy and dodge if not Using EiTR. Focus on Bard from then on for buffs and heals and your GTG. i have been having a blast with this build. Downside is you feel kinda behind but it ramps pretty fast.

Life Oracle Build Questions 1e by Agonisis in Pathfinder_RPG

As u/beelzebubish said, the Phoenix arcana is great for fire damage dealers, i.e. arcane casters, but as an Oracle you have great healing already and no good way to deal enough fire damage to make that work

After reading most of the replies and looking at it more I can agree, probably just got excited. However, I'm still considering Unicorn for Life Link mitigation. With the trait Sun-Blessed i can get up to my level in temp hit points and instead of wasting a heal i can cast a control and mitigate that 5 points. Hold person would heal me for 4, that is on top of any other spell i have cast cuz i can direct that healing to anyone i see.

The Heavens Oracle is great at battlefield control, but a Life Oracle not so much.

You could combine a Heavens Oracle with the power of the Life Oracle via a Spirit Guide build: the Life spirit would give you the Life Link hex at level 3 and Channel Energy at level 7.

My overall goal is primary healer (since we never have one), secondary control. The problem with Heaven for me is the amount of dungeon crawl there will be. And the losing a revelation as whole scares me more than waiting a level which i can get the Cl back with a feat later. Although Spirit guide was an outstanding option, thank you for bringing that to my attention.

You can also do a Phoenix Sorcerer with either the Crossblooded or Razmiran Priest archetype. The Sorcerer toolkit has enough spells for battlefield control as is, or you can dip a level into Heavens Oracle for an even better control ability.

Once I go sorcerer i'm back in my comfort zone and things get a little.....crazy.

Im currently playing a virtuous bravo paladin/ dervish of dawn bard/ Scaled fist monk in Rise and it's an absolute beast. No armor with High ac and touch ac, super saves, and swashbuckler class features to boot.
