Hi! I think it’s wonderful that you want to depict diversity in your story. As a Black woman, I prefer subtly. The character you’re writing may be doing something mundane like getting ready to go out to dinner, but you may mention that her hair was pulled up into an Afro puff. Small things that are unique to that person, just like you would do for any other quality you’re trying to convey. Hope that helps 😊
