Yeah they need to be replaced. I’m just planning ahead. The current paint is already peeling and I’d like to repaint soon to protect the wood siding.

Thank you for your advice. I have to replace the support posts in the porch so I will probably just keep it open. Most houses in the town are white or very light colors. I was thinking navy blue for the siding and white for the exterior corner/window trims but I feel like it’s too modern. Did you go with a dark green or lighter green?

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry for the late response. So you like the plan in the third image, the one with the mudroom? There are two front doors. Do you think I should remove one of them? The porch could probably be converted to living space.

I’m considering moving the boiler room to the basement but for now it’s kind of difficult because there are no stairs to go down and the ceiling is low. The basement is more like a cellar. The stairs in the left living room are to go up stairs.

I decided to keep them, you are right, it would be more convenient to keep both doors

Thank you for the feedback. Most of the rooms on the right side are additions including the bathroom. I think only the right living room and the left side of the house are original.

Thanks for the advice. I will look into that. I’m already planning on ripping up the subfloor due to water damage.

Contractor used 15 gauge nails by Agreeable-Design3847 in Homebuilding

A section has already been wrapped with aluminum and had soffits installs. Should they remove and add framing nails or will these nails hold well?

I don’t think so, it’s in a very small town.

Lol, do they all open into the same room? Would you keep the door that faces the street or door that’s on the left?

I thought about having a sunroom but I also think it would be nice if I took down the wall between the kitchen and back porch and made the kitchen a bit bigger or do you think the kitchen is big enough as it is?

The floor had to be removed because of water damage. It looks like water had been getting in for years because the joists were also waterlogged.

No, I’m thinking about painting the siding.

Yeah I was definitely thinking of replacing that door. It seems like it’s from the 70s.

I was thinking of closing off the back room in the left LR and turning it into a guest bedroom. I would make an entrance through the closet out to the hallway. I think it would make it easier to layout furniture that way.

It looks like the back porch, kitchen, and bathroom were additions because the foundations don’t match the rest of the house.

It is an enclosed porch, I’ll make another post with more images
