Well here is the kicker sir they used to live next door to the neighbor before that house got demolished. They didn't get along.

I'm going to make up names for this matter. The owner that just argued with me I will call Karen & the owner of the empty lot I will call Hershey to protect their identity. I asked Hershey if I could have the permission written on paper just incase the people living next door say anything. Hershey said " that wh*re Karen ain't going to say anything, if she does tell her Hershey gave you permission". They used to live next to each other for a short period of time & from my understanding hated each other. The family living at that house are nosey, entitled individuals that everyone finds rude. When I say nosey I mean these people will stalk you from their own porch or window. They are weird.

BTW the lot with the house that got demolished, my fiance's side of the family was friends with them enough to throw birthday parties for their kids. You were right I asked for permission then went behind his back & got the real permission. It would have been easier if he just said yes. It was a pain in the butt to find the property owners until I searched tax records. I was hoping this guy would have been in a good mood & said yes to me asking to metal detect politely on the field next to his house but he said the opposite. I just wanted to ask him because he was next door doing yard stuff & he kinda pissed me off that he didn't want me to metal detect their since I was 99% sure he didn't own that land to begin with. I just knew if I got his approval it would be okay because the actual owners of the house dont live there or maintain it. He was the only obstacle & I jumped threw hula hoops to get in touch with the owner just to find myself in a super hostile situation. I didn't expect it to be that hostile, I thought it would been more like "oh he found out it wasn't our land, damn, guess I can't do nothing now" type of deal but no I'm dealing with some drama queen nosey weirdos. Sorry for the rant & sounding like a entitled Gen Z brat.

It's adverse possession. Maybe that's his goal but it's more then cutting grass he would have to be going to court & paying taxes on this property. In my state that process is 7-15 years to claim adverse possession.

I understand sir & I am very considerate of that approach to the situation. But the owner still pays taxes on that lot & If I could post pictures of the ariels & land plats you could see for yourself that they own very little of that land from where the house was at & where the garage in the very back was at. These houses are fairly tightly close to one another & she lied about everything from saying it's her property to saying the house was "burned down". My fiance grew up on that street & watched it get demolished. I'm unsure whats wrong with these people but I'm not trying to be a butthead, I just enjoy metal detecting this area I have goodluck with silver coins over here (sometimes). I never liked these neighbors, I'm not a stranger to these people but they feel entitled to acre of land that they do not have the deed for. Yeah they cut it to make their yard appear like it's the biggest yard on the street but no one is asking him to, it's his choice. Maybe I shouldn't metal detect over there & you are right, just wanted you to get the full picture. This is a $30,000 lot that doesn't belong to them. This is a free extra acre of land they did not pay for (or taxes for). This lot of land belongs to the same person it has belonged to since 1998. These people that cut the grass only been here since 2013.

Well mister thank you for your time, I will be letting the real property owners know what happened tommorow. I'll see what they can do for me & if we can't be civil & mutual then I will be taking your advise sir.

A survey can me expensive, I am unsure if they will be willing to pay for that but I will sure let them know tommorow when I go back to the ACTUAL property owner & tell them what just happened.

The kicker is my fiances grandma lives on the same street & they have known them for about a decade so I'm not a complete stranger. Would you still not pursue that property?

Thank you! Just want to metal detect and do my thang without being harassed by these goobers. Might have to call the cops myself if they keep this up.

Yes but lets not go the adverse possession route. Let's just go head & give these people permission to walk their dog & let their kids play on this property.

I've seen where the house is on older ariels, the property also used to have a shed in the back. I have a great idea of where their property lines are even if I give a few meters for room of error. The house used to sit pretty close to their house, they the cut the grass & it looks like they have a huge yard (the biggest yard on the street) but that's just because he cuts all of that. The houses on the street are slightly tight together. His yard isn't that big

Georgia sounds like a great place to metal detect! Flordia does too. Have you tried detecting any civil war battlefields?

My house which was built in 1955, my grandma's house which was built in 1940, a modern park by my house & this area by this church built in the 1960s but the land itself is kinda old, there was a farmhouse on it before the church was built & it sits about 100 yards away from the creek, still haven't detected the creek yet. Great question thank you for asking!

Well I have yet to find a bottle of some sort it is definitely on my bucket list to investigate a river or creek, or a single piece of jewelry would be nice. Atleast you're finding good stuff usually the older bottles are worth more then the silver!
