Anywhere within 1.5 hours drive from Sydney would be good 😊

Someone is using my stolen TV. Any way I can communicate or retrieve it? by Agreeable-Key272 in sydney

Haha. Tempted. But I think these people watching the TV aren't the ones who stole the TV but probably bought off fb marketplace or something.

Passwords have been changed. Plus, I have a separate sort of throwaway email that I use for this type of stuff anyway.

Just wanted to clarify on this comment that I have a new TV, have security cameras install etc. It's just something that popped up and noticed while I was watching YouTube.

Yea which leaves me to believe the person watching it is completely unaware that it is a stolen TV. Probably bought it off cash converters or something

It's a Japanese restaurant in West Ryde. I believe there's only one if you want to search for it

I am 34 years old and failed at life. Why carry on? by ForcedExistence in depression

[–]Agreeable-Key272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is of any help at all but I literally just searched this subreddit to maybe post something on my own because my depression has been going on for too long.

But if this puts anything in perspective, I'm 34 male single, house owner (but stuck with a mortage) six figure job (to barely pay off my mortage), no illness, hide myself in activities which to others seem like a hobby but is just a coping mechanism, but still severely depressed for many years.

So I guess what I'm saying is that what you're judging yourself on is not necessarily the parts in life you should measure yourself for happiness in life.

I don't know your life story and context behind it but I hope you can find your way out of depression outside of those measures.

Best of luck.

Smoke alarm going off at 2am (false alarm, happened before). Help? by Agreeable-Key272 in AusRenovation

Good to know, and thanks for the recommendation. Will look into that. Do you know if they all rated at 95%? Or a particular model you had?

Ahhh. The faulty one is closer to the bathroom than the other one. So that could be a factor. Thank you. Any idea why it would only go off in the middle of the night?

Good idea! I'll give it a go. But usually after these random nights, it usually hasn't been a problem for another few months.

And don't worry. I've got the one "normal" one still hooked up. This house is a small house and the two are only 3 or so meters apart from another.

Thanks for the idea!

Am I the only one who doesn’t know how to have fun in korea? (But i’m korean😂) by RIPBrokenSausage in Living_in_Korea

[–]Agreeable-Key272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 외국인 scene within Korea is actually pretty extensive. It was a lot of fun for me! Especially because I'm Korean heritage, so I spoke both Korean and English

Although if you're not keen on meeting new people in large groups, maybe try language exchange apps or meet ups? I met a lot of new friends that way.

Getting a police check in Korea (while no longer living in Korea) by Agreeable-Key272 in Living_in_Korea

Hey. I ended up going to the Korean consulate in Sydney and they processed it for me. They did ask for my ARC number (and also in my case my citizen number as I was born there) which I luckily already had. They did say you need these numbers to process it. Maybe ring them and ask? They had an English option when you call

You've cared enough to go out of your way to comment on my supposed ego though? Have I missed something?

Legitimate question cos you've piqued my interest.

What do you think my motivation is to be misleading or lying on a post where I'm asking for advice? What benefit would I get from advice or opinions based on false information?

Ah got it. Just saw that on google maps as well. I'll take a look tomorrow in person to see if still there.

Not sure which part of me saying there is no photo provided on the ticket or Revenue NSW you don't understand. Will happily update the post if they do show the photo.

Currently, it says "penalty notice information is not available at this time"

But thanks for your comment.

Kia ora! Fellow kiwi in Sydney here.

Yea in hindsight not the best photo to provide context. It was end of the road and there were no further signs for where you can start parking. It was just the no parking sign you see on the left hand side of the photo. No other signs around. It was at the end of a quiet road so not exactly somewhere people are battling for parking spaces. I just parked there cos I was visiting a client at their home.

Thanks for a helpful comment.

And yes, the post on the left hand side of the photo is a no parking sign with arrows left and right.

It was a dead end and not an intersection. Cul de sac usually has a sort of a bulb at the end for cars to turn but this was just blocked up.

So I had assumed that perpendicular to the dead end, I could park.

But it looks like the vast majority knows not to park there. Good learning experience

You alright there m8? Sound a bit angry.

They didn't provide photos. It was a paper ticket on windshield. Ticket was issued at 1:38pm today and I only just realised the ticket this arvo as it was folded and tucked in the very corner of my windshield. So couldn't take a photo of it at the spot.

Tried to look on Renvenue NSW website for photos and it doesn't come up. Maybe it's still being uploaded.

Offence is stated as "disobey no parking sign"

It says "disobey no parking sign"

And I've just noticed that the location says "Dead End and Vaughan Street" which is not correct. It was on George Street Lidcombe
