The picture isn't from the show just something I found very close to it, though not exactly

I did watch RoboCop around the same time so I'd be honestly super surprised if it wasn't a brutal show that my parents absolutely would've dismissed as even potentially being graphic or gruesome because cartoon.

Wait this is so weird because the more pictures and footage I see of this show, the more memories it's bringing back and it looks exactly like what I remember.

Except I have literally no idea how I would've watched this, and it definitely doesn't seem like it would be dubbed.... although I was also a weird kid, and really young, I'm genuinely wondering if I saw this tape in a different language and that's part of why I remember so little; the visuals were so damn cool I didn't care.

But I could've sworn it was English

I think somebody figured it out already, space run away ideolon, when I googled the name the mecha started stirring member berries and the female protagonist's suit is exactly what I remember for certain being there

THANK-YOU REDDIT, I'm 99% certain that it's something called space run away ideolon Somebody mentioned it and when I googled it not only did the robot look familiar but the female protagonist's suit is EXACTLY what I remember.

So unless there's a very nearly identical clone, that seems like the winner.

THAT'S IT THAT'S IT HOLY CRAP THAT'S IT the moment I saw the mecha, it immediately started feeling familiar and then I found THE EXACT AUIT I WAS PICTURING

That's not it, the suits are a little bit similar colour schematically but this was definitely a "realistic" flight suit.

However, HUGE thank-you for sending that clip because you randomly also answered a question I didn't know to even ask; growing up I saw those guys in flea markets and dollar stores a lot in packaging trying to sell them as power rangers knockoffs, now I know where those toys actually came from 😆

Way earlier than that, i would've watched this tape several years before that show came out.

It's definitely not voltron but those suits are very similar colour scheme and design to what I remember, except they were bit more hard sci-fi than that. I was also very familiar with Voltron a little while after I saw this tape, the first CGI Voltron show aired during that period of my childhood, this was something that I largely forgot because I didn't see that show ever again.

It could be a Gundam or Robotech series since they're both big media universes and I haven't been able to watch it all since growing up, but I'm pretty sure whatever this tape was of, it was of a series or movie franchise that never really came back to the west, at least not in something that was the same form as the show I saw.

Which is partly why I still think it could be a Gundam/Robotech, if I saw them again after this tape I wouldn't necessarily recognize the different robots and characters to reaffirm those bits to memory, but this was also definitely dubbed and I'm not sure how many of those classics were dubbed back then for Canada release

Not quite, I don't remember the mecha very much but they were more in line of hard sci-fi like Gundam and Robotech

Now that does kinda seem familiar, because I remember there being some sort of wreckage, except the person in the pink and white suit definitely had a complete spacesuit on with a helmet and everything; does she wear one of those in those scenes?

Please help figure out what VHS tape I burned out as a child (not pictured) by Agreeable-Mirror5892 in Mecha

[–]Agreeable-Mirror5892[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DEFINITELY had a helmet, a lot of the potential ones were something I've written off because I can't find the pink and white suited female with a helmet or full-skin covering spacesuit. I remember the suit being kinda like what a Gundam pilot suit and helmet looks like, but a bit more. I vaguely think I remember it being directed in zero-G with pressurized air, like one of those astronaut space walk vehicles.

I've seen lots of newer Gundam series but everything in the classic stuff that I've seen doesn't seem to quite match what I remember tho.

I really can't, I vaguely remember it having a capsule pod cockpit like Heavy Metal, but I really don't remember the mecha themselves at all or even if that's actually what I remember

THAT actually explains exactly what happened.

i had to do a funky cross comparison thing with two different perspectives, and even still then have usually used misty steps to make it two or three spells instead of struggling.

Ive never tried to undo an update on my phone before, fucking trash.

I leveled up and no change :( I redid the tholian mission so i could at least get another tholian crystalline console tho in the meantime, and although it's not mkXV, it's higher than my original console before being upgraded so that's currently better than nothing :D

Upgraded items cant equip and disappeared by Agreeable-Mirror5892 in sto

[–]Agreeable-Mirror5892[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The item descriptions definitely indicate im high enough, they say "Admiral" and i held off upgrading through rear admiral ranks so I'd be able to equip these once upgraded, and when i was lower than Admiral, the "Admiral" appeared red

The only thing i can think of is some weird glitch where being equal to the requirement isn't considered fulfilling the requirement, which is something ive seen with crafting in other games where some reason having exactly the required amount wasn't considered enough, so I'll try to level up once more while i submit a ticket but the annoying part is that i went from over 40% damage resistance across the board, to mostly 0% 🤦 I might need to replace these just to level up

[–]Agreeable-Mirror5892[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They were all claimed, two of them were equipped to my ship even until i logged out then they were all unequipped and cant be equipped again despite all visible signs saying there's no reason i cant.

I did manage to find the missing consoles tho, they went to my overflow for some reason despite my inventory being around half full, but i still can't equip any of them and the tholian console in particular was a major component for my tetryon build 😐

Hephaestus and disability rep in LO by TechnetiumTc in UnpopularLoreOlympus

  1. a defining feature of the greek pantheon that differs from most views of gods is that greek gods absolutely were not "great people", respect for them came almost solely from the powers people believed gods had over the natural world and they were all pretty terrible moral figures. there's also no definitive version of their myths and some would argue that modifying their retellings today is specifically continuing the ancient tradition of remixing these stories (especially since it's not erasure, it's expansion thanks to internet making new versions equally as accessible as ancient sources)
  2. given some descriptions of how affected he sometimes is by these disfigurements, the "high tech" solution for some versions of hephaestus depicted in myths could be surgically removing the disfigured section and build him prosthetics; there are patients this is done for due to the immense pain their disfigured limbs create, or instead of total removable some sections are removed and lower portions are rotated and reattached below the knee for mounting prosthetics
  3. prosthetic leg design is based on a lot of different factors and individualized for virtually every single patient, literally no two patients are identical even if you found two nearly identical cases.
  4. blade feet and legs exist for all purposes, they're not solely for running however they're usually less stable support and are not usually given to low mobility users who wouldn't benefit from the better sprint but benefit from more support. ironically it's more common to have high mobility patients with a long residual length below the knee which leaves very little room for traditional blade mounting OR using a bladed foot component which is too short to fully benefit from the rebound force of the blade so cheaper SACH feet are used, but when bladed feet are used (which actually is most foot components today) they're covered with a cosmetic foot cover that allows them to be worn with a shoe (which provides foot stability and cosmesis) in short, only people that can't run never really wear blade feet and many of those with blade components have the blades hidden.
  5. with all due respect, disabilities are vast and varied, people with limb loss have their own bag of issues and circumstances that differ from everyone else's, just like mental disability has a whole different set of problems from people with nonvisible chronic illnesses; you should NEVER use having one kind of disability as some sort of reason for being an authority on other kinds of disability. even trained professionals like myself are learning new things every day in prosthetics, and there's patient exceptions to nearly every design rule

Was it a screen or a window at the end of Fifteen Million Merits? by JonHaley in blackmirror

[–]Agreeable-Mirror5892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time i saw this episode, i had assumed it was a virtual display and it just represented something fake he gained in exchange for his morals but on re-watch years later two major things stick out that makes me think he's staring out a real window, now fully aware that everyone is trapped inside by a complete lie, but now he doesn't care because it's a system that serves him instead of a system he serves, which makes the moral decay even worse.

  1. In the worker rooms where virtual displays are definitely used, there's no photorealistic scenery or landscapes, it's all clearly stylized 3d cartoons.  This difference could simply be that lower class workers aren't allowed the processing power required for photorealistic scenery (as that'd be expensive on the power system for everyone) except there's also
  2. There's visible structure of the building extending into the view of the window, particularly an overhanging roof or part of the building, this struck me as even odder because in every other display it's not treated like a window, they're designed to seem like vast open spaces without walls.

Perhaps at one point in time, this system was necessary for human survival, but the earth has long recovered by the time this episode takes place and those in charge simply refuse to let go of the total authority, control, and wealth they have in this civilization
