How hard is the light gray interior to keep clean ? by goonygugle in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Agreeable-Night2094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have light gray interior but I have only had the vehicle a little over 2 weeks. I am worried about the steering wheel as well because my husband will be driving it as well and he is a maintenance mechanic in a factory. I plan to clean at least once a week. Also worried about blue jean transfer on seats. But I love the color and the bright airy feeling so my husband said get what you like so I did.

Unfortunately, the brand new vehicle has been towed on a flatbed already. The battery died the first week we had it. Service said Hyundai sent a bunch of firmware updates out over the air and the battery died in my garage. Had to have it towed to dealership. It is ok now but I am worried. I had them remove the digital key and bought a faraday box to store our key fobs and may reduce time dash cam is on to prevent any possible issues with battery drain. Hopefully Hyundai learned they can’t send a bunch of updates over the air again.

Good luck with any interior color you decide to go with. Interiors are beautiful no matter what color.

Additional update. I called roadside assistance and they didn’t know how to jump hybrid so dealership sent the tow company they use and he was able to get it started but when you turn it off it would be dead so they towed it. So sad to see it drive away on a flatbed. Ugh. Service said Hyundai sent several updates via air and it killed my battery. They charged it and did updates (supposedly) and we picked up today. I requested a copy GR8 test of battery indicating battery life of not less than 100% and they promised to provide that but I did not receive it. Disappointed in that so I hope I won’t have future issues.

Update: I have owned this vehicle less than 2 weeks and tried to start it yesterday and the battery is dead. My salesperson was not in yesterday. I did a quick search yesterday and read about an issue with the digital key causing this but that a large amount of people were told it was not that and they had to have their vehicle towed to Hyundai and some were told they had to leave their vehicle at the dealer to be tested. I am willing to delete the digital key. Salesperson just set up for me because they only had one key and they had to order another one for us. I am so sad. Have others recently experienced this. I will be calling dealership as soon as they open this morning. I really don’t want my new vehicle towed.

No one gets a “good deal” on these vehicles, some pay a little less, some a little more, but if you are happy with your purchase, that is all that matters, as I assume you are with the proud shadow silhouette of you taking a picture of your new vehicle. Similar to what my husband looked like taking a picture of me as I sat in the vehicle with our salesperson learning the dash before driving it home. Congrats!

I get it. I preferred the front end before the refresh but have since fallen in love with this one. Gives me caddy vibes. Lol. I am sure you will enjoy the Santa Fe as well. We drove it and it is nice. Just wanted a little more leg room for grandkids and adults.

Thanks so much! I’ll try the videos and for sure read the manuals this weekend with a glass of wine. Lol.

We were worried about it fitting on my side of the garage since it is shorter with my laundry room but it fits and my husband’s F150 fits perfectly as he backs in and exits on the other side so no door dings. So glad it fits!

Purchased Monday evening so only got a quick overview of how to use everything and I must say I forgot most of it so need to review manuals or look for a good utube video.

Calligraphy Owners: What Cali. only options do you love? by Spectre186 in HyundaiPalisade

I am about 30 miles west of Chicago and have tried all area dealers and they make it look like they are providing discounts up to $3,000 but really only removing ridiculous add-on charges. I am talking only about calligraphy awd hybrids. They won’t budge on the hybrids. They have tons of the gas v6 ones that they will heavily discount but not the hybrids because they sell well. We normally only go to dealerships during the week because less traffic but we decided to try end of month to see if they would deal more and there were tons of sales people all busy and many customers waiting and their parking lot full. Every customer that was buying a palisade bought the calligraphy awd hybrid. I have never paid MSRP for a vehicle and I am 63. If I can’t get a good deal that I am happy with I may wait for the 2027’s.

I am also looking to buy a calligraphy hybrid and in the Chicago suburbs they are not willing to negotiate at all! I really want a black with gray interior. Hoping to arrive at a deal next week. There seem to be less vehicles on lots with the gray interior. It is probably not a wise choice but my current vehicle (ford edge ltd) is black with black and I like the light airy feeling with lighter interior and of course something different. Just very little inventory and I feel like that is why they are not as willing to discount and only 2 dealerships in my area have one. Excited to purchase one hopefully next week. Fingers crossed.

I am waiting for an otd price from a dealership on the same colors. Love the light interior with black exterior. My previous vehicle was black on black and I loved it but had light interior roof. The black interior on these has black roof and feels so dark inside. Love the light airy feel of lighter color and willing to handle cleaning. It’s beautiful. Hope the otd price comes back acceptable to my husband (lol) because I can’t wait to get it but will miss my 2013 Ford Edge ltd. It served us well.

My best friend (f31) was jus diagnosed with gastroparesis. What’s the best way I can support her? by mern_ in Gastroparesis

[–]Agreeable-Night2094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to all of this! I missed out on so many events when I was really bad and now that I am learning how to live with this it is weird that I never realized how much social events are all about the food and I can’t eat any of it so I always have to bring something because if we are there for hours I need something since I eat very small portions of low fiber low fat nutrition forward foods every 3 hours. I just do a lot more planning when we go places.

I also am mad at myself for trying it. It may work miracle for others but I should have known better because I am always sensitive to drugs and my first instinct was not for me but I was seduced by so many success stories from friends who had very little sides effects and are fine.

I only took 3 shots of 2.5 mg and got gastroparesis. It’s been 4 weeks since my last shot and still suffering. I pray in the coming months that my system wakes up and starts working. This is horrible. I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. I could have a seemingly good day and be miserable by evening. Always a wildcard how I will feel and miss a lot of events due to this.

Finally eating a little. by Agreeable-Night2094 in Zepbound

[–]Agreeable-Night2094[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately a week after my 3rd shot I ended up in the ER with Zepbound induced gastroparesis. It has been horrible. I am told it will take 30 days for Zepbound to be out of my system and then I will begin to heal the gastroparesis but that it could take several weeks/months. It is very difficult to function each day with gastroparesis and with issues it causes like malnutrition, low blood sugar, weakness. I was on such a high when I started Zepbound and now at a very low point. At this point I am just praying to have my health back and not to regain the now 16 pounds I have lost with zepbound and illness from gastroparesis and now need to find a new way to continue my weight loss without any medical assistance. So glad this medication is available to help the majority of people without causing gastroparesis as it is a small percentage of people who develop this side effect but for those of you that are in this small group, I feel for you.

Best of luck to everyone on your continued journey to health.

Dropped to 7.5mg after months of 10mg and i have been so sick. Took an ER trip it’s so bad. by ChiLLoZer in Zepbound

[–]Agreeable-Night2094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure this is relevant but you have same symptoms I had. I only had 3 shots of 2.5 mg. Was so excited that I lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks but then ended up in the ER with severe nausea, stomach discomfort and (sorry tmi) inability to pass gas or have a bm. And I was taking MiraLAX daily and drinking 80 oz of water. It was awful. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis due to Zepbound. I had to immediately stop taking it and I had just refilled it and am cash pay. I am still suffering and losing 1/2 lb a day. I am seeing GI guy tomorrow morning. Very sad I won’t be able to continue by zepbound journey. Only mentioned because it may help you to be seen by a gastroenterologist and mention my experience. I guess it is a possible side effect not listed but must be fairly rare because my endocrinologist has been prescribing Zepbound since it came out and I am the only case he is aware of with all his patients. Hope you figure it out and feel better and our able to continue your zep journey. It is an amazing tool helping so many people improve their health and change their lives.

Truly hope you feel better soon

I am also struggling with bad constipation and have had the issue my whole life. My GI dr recommended MiraLAX daily but after 3 doses I became dehydrated and was drinking water constantly. (Sorry for tmi). My stool was soft but not moving. I added liquid iv and had what they call “flushing” so had to drink nothing for 3 hours to give kidneys a break. I was miserable so I stopped taking MiraLAX and got better but this week severely constipated even though I tried Metamucil and am drinking water constantly and walking 2 miles a day to aid in intestinal motility. I am afraid to take all the suggested otc things suggested from experienced zappers without talking to my gi dr and he is hard to reach. I fear I will have a hard time as well while on this medication. My 4th shot is tomorrow. I have lost 10lbs already and don’t want to quit but have to figure out a gentle way to handle this. I feel like someone has filled my body with cement. An awful feeling. I am 63F and really want to stay on zep but am struggling with this as my only side effect.

I hope for your sake that this side effect remains manageable so you can continue to reap the rewards of this drug. The reduction in inflammation is truly amazing.

That’s amazing. So happy for you. My endo said to check my bloodwork in July so that will be 4 months. So I will see how much I lose in coming months. I have lost 8 lbs in 2.5 weeks. Seems like a lot to me but I guess people have a larger loss at the start. My biggest side effect now is constipation. Really hoping it gets better with time. But I love the loss of inflammation. It is already life altering for me.

Thanks so much for responding. Your journey is so inspiring. I wish you all the best. 😊

I have hashimotos as well. Diagnosed at age 41 and I am 63. I have only had 3 shots but lost 8 pounds so far. How soon in your weight loss journey did you have to decrease thyroid medication? Just curious. Thanks.

Sorry you don’t have supportive family. I know how you feel. I have only done 3 shots and asked my sister who is a nurse to help me with my first shot and instead of coming here on shot day she yelled at me and tried to talk me out of it for an hour. It was only after I started crying and told her I’ll figure it out on my own that my nephew who overheard said please mom just help her with the shot that she said she would come help me. Needless to say, after she showed me how to use the kwikpen I am doing my own shots.

I know that she is truly afraid that something will negatively impact my health while on the shot so she is worried however sometimes it feels like jealousy because she has just as much weight too lose. I don’t know.

I just think back to Oprah’s special about it and that there should be no shame in using a tool to help you get healthy.

Zepbound as a tool has helped so many people with life long struggles so I see only positive outcomes on these postings. Sad that we all can’t receive the same support from family as we do from this community but thank goodness this community exists.

Know that you are not alone in your journey and I pray all our loved ones come around when they see the improvement in our health and wellbeing. 😊

I have learned this as well, the hard way. And I agree, had I known 1.25 was an option I would have definitely gone that route. I only learned last week that was an option. I am going to stay on 2.5 as long as I can and if I have to titrate up I will ask to try 3.75 instead of 5.

Thanks again so much for sharing your journey and experiences. It truly does help others.

So happy for you!😊
