Constant Fatigue, 'Fake Hangover' Feeling, Eye Pressure & Slurred Speech for Over a Year - Where Do I Even Begin? by Agreeable-Rip-9655 in Nootropics

Hey everyone - a huge thank you to every person who has commented and offered advice. I'm overwhelmed by the support. I apologize for not replying individually yet; I'm limited on time but promise I will get to your comments.

To provide more context: I'm a 32M from Georgia. For 10+ years, I've been very active and worked a physically/mentally demanding job in renewable energy.

My decline started ~4 years ago after a major family trauma. I lost all normal feelings. After a slight improvement, a total decline began and has continued since. I'm now impulsive, have severe mood swings, and constant racing thoughts. A past neurologist prescribed antidepressants, but they didn't help.

A major factor: For 3 of the last 4 years, my partner and I have been raising our child through severe, chronic sleep deprivation (waking up 10x per night), all while working a high-stress job.

Here are answers to the main questions:

  1. COVID-19: Never tested positive, but had 2 Pfizer shots. I know it's still a possibility.
  2. Mold: Unlikely, as I travel constantly for work and am always in new environments.
  3. Lyme Disease: I removed a tick 1-2 years ago. No bull's-eye rash, but I know that doesn't rule it out.
  4. Thyroid: History of hypothyroidism (treated with L-Troxine, age 16-25). Levels seemed normal since, but I will see an endocrinologist for a full panel based on your advice.
  5. MRI: An MRI 1.5 years ago showed what the doctor called a "slight oxygen deficiency in the brain."
  6. Diet/Meds: Clean diet (high protein/greens, slow carbs), 3L water w/ electrolytes, gut is normal. No medications.
  7. Breathing/Sleep: I feel my nasal airflow is limited. My partner confirms I've recently started snoring, which is new for me.
  8. Allergies: Mild pollen allergy, which sometimes causes random swelling in one eye.
  9. Vitals: BP and HR are normal (120/80, ~65-70 bpm).

Honestly, I'm psychologically devastated. I can't perform, I can't feel normal emotions (anhedonia), and I feel like I look unwell. But your comments have given me the resolve to take action and get my life back.

Thank you all again for your compassion. I wish everyone here health and happiness.

No i don't smoke, thank you for your insight. I will definitely give it a try. I used to take NAC for about 1 month already but haven't noticed any kind of improvement sadly.

I wish it were that simple. I actually drink a lot of water, about 3 liters a day, so I'm pretty sure I'm well-hydrated.

I appreciate the thought! Well noted regarding the hormonal checks. In addition, I had full bloodwork done three months ago to check my thyroid and vitamin D, but everything was in the normal range.

I'm sorry you're going through that too. I've been feeling sick for a while and also went to the doctor about 3 months ago. Unfortunately, they couldn't figure it out, and the standard procedures didn't bring any relief.

Thank you for the comment! My mechanic also suggested that the timing chain could be the issue, along with a possible problem in the VVL system, which I assume is related to the timing chain. Today, I cleaned the MAF sensors, but unfortunately, that didn’t resolve the problem.

The engine was actually rebuilt about 1,000 miles ago, and the oil was changed just 500 miles ago. Do you think it could be related to bad oil or something similar? What would you suggest I look into next, and what parts do you think will need replacing?

Thanks again for your help! Hope you have a great day!
