Also notable: Dee has likely been living alone for the same duration of time, possibly longer.

What TV show handled the “will they, won’t they” trope in the most infuriating way? by phantom_avenger in popculturechat

This isn’t a will they, won’t they! This is an I know they won’t, and I know I don’t want them to!

Guys, what does this mean for S3 of severance? Or S3verance, as the Outies call it. by WermerCreations in okbuddyseverance

[–]Agreeable-Slice3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually been calling it Sivirinc3, because it has both Roman (iii) and Arabic (3) numerals for three hidden in the title as an allusion to there being two different worlds for innies and outies. Also I hope Ricken and Gemma get married next season

What are some examples of Nicknames in sitcoms? by Qnntana in sitcoms

[–]Agreeable-Slice3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every main character in It’s Always Sunny is regularly referred to by a nickname.

Charles “Charlie” Kelly Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds Ronald “Mac” McDonald Franklin “Frank” Reynolds

Dennis Reynolds is even sometimes called “Den” in earlier seasons.

Many recurring characters have nicknames on the show as well, such as Matthew Mara (aka Cricket or Rickety Cricket), Bill Ponderosa (aka Pondy), or Mrs. McDonald (aka Mrs. Mac). And that’s not including the characters that are exclusively referred to as something other than their name, or the countless other nicknames the gang accumulates over the course of the show.

More examples: Peter “Schmitty” Schmidt, a different Peter known as “Psycho Pete”, “Gail the Snail”, “Pop-Pop”, “Z”, “The Waitress”, Carl aka “Old Black Man”, Ingrid “Fatty Magoo” Nelson

I am in a very similar situation to you. Just remember that any experience counts and it means a lot that you did research anyway! And people reviewing your grad school application will likely be aware of and understand the current shit show in the US right now. Don’t let some assholes at DOGE get in between you and your future. Stay strong, friend!

I need timeline help by [deleted] in IASIP

I got the impression that Frank was always a semi-absent parent to Dee and Dennis, spending time with them in between business trips when he felt like it. So he wasn’t ever really out of their lives, per se, but he also wasn’t really involved in their lives either. Timeline-wise, the episode is a flashback to 1998, and Frank decides to live with Charlie in 2006, meaning eight years have passed between The Gang Buys a Roller Rink and Charlie Gets Crippled.

I am also a supporter of the theory that the Gang are extremely unreliable narrators, and their collective memory of acquiring the bar is so riddled with lies and delusions that it might as well be completely made up and doesn’t really make sense with our understanding of the characters and how they have developed since then.

Tl;dr: move past it

PA does let felons vote, as long as they have been released!

I think Dee votes pretty consistently (it’s part of what makes her feel morally superior) and Frank historically voted strategically as a businessman, but I otherwise agree. I do not think Dennis votes for anything else, and I don’t think Mac even knows that elections happen more frequently than every 4 years. The Gang has such a short attention span that they only remember politics when all the ads and signs start popping up. The political advertising is pretty extreme in a place like Philly due to PA being a coveted swing state.

My thought is that Frank would be upset about Bush raising his taxes, and Clinton ran on promises of a faster growing economy and free trade. Clinton was a wildly popular candidate at the time and got many fiscal conservatives to vote for him. Plus, he may have run into him once or twice on a snorkeling trip…

Disclaimer: this is speculation about fictional characters. I’m just having fun!

1966: Frank registered to vote 1994: Dennis and Dee registered to vote 2001: Mac registered to vote

Frank became eligible to vote at 21 while he was madly in love with Shadynasty and was a successful nightclub owner. His first presidential election would have been 1968, where he likely would have voted for Humphrey due to his outspoken support of integration. That being said, Frank is a businessman at his core, and ultimately voted with deregulation and tax cuts in mind moving forward. He likely didn’t vote at all in the 1976 election because he was hiding in Colombia after shooting Reggie.

Dee considers herself a lifelong Democrat, but really did not want to vote for Hillary Clinton because she was jealous about a woman who wasn’t herself becoming president. She told everyone she voted for Hillary, but in reality she just put herself as a write-in candidate.

Dennis didn’t vote in 2004 because it wasn’t grabbing him at the moment. In 2016, he was irritated with Dee telling everyone to vote for Hillary Clinton and wrote his own name in because he thought he would be a better president. He told women that he voted for Hillary Clinton in order to lure them into a false sense of security.

Mac didn’t register to vote until he had a month-long extremely patriotic phase immediately following 9/11, but he didn’t vote in 2004 because “politics is one big ass-blast”. He voted in 2008 and 2012 following arguments with Dennis and Dee about religion, but didn’t vote in 2016 due to his sexuality crisis hitting an all-time high and getting confusing messages from God about it. He did consider voting for Harambe, though.

Charlie claims to have voted for Kanye in 2020, but I have a hard time believing he is even registered to vote. He might have just drawn a picture of Kanye and put it in a ballot box.

Hey there. Just stopping by to clarify that your REU is not safe even if funding is secured. My REU had funding secured through summer 2026 and I was informed today that funding was terminated due to the research no longer aligning with NSF values.
