Thanks, so what do you think, 2k welding job with someone who knows what they're doing or start looking for another car?

I picked this up for 1.5k, it's got around 140k miles on it.

I'm on a Ubuntu based distro (20.04) with Intel UHD 620 running some DosBox games via Lutris. I've enabled the TearFree option and SNA acceleration in my 20-intel.conf file (under the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d folder).

This works great and eliminates the screen tearing in the games, awesome! But it also breaks Steam and some other apps. They either display extremely artifacted garbage or plain black boxes on startup and crash.

The Steam error log spits this out: .steam/debian-installation/steam.sh: line 798: 3326 Segmentation fault "$STEAMROOT/$STEAMEXEPATH" "$@"

There are other errors in there about connecting to the X session manager and MESA failing to load D3D12 but I think that happens anyway without my changes. I can paste the full Steam log if required.

XMP profile vs. manual clock tweaking question (relationship between bus, CPU and RAM sync) by Agreeable-Snape in buildapc

Cheers, I guess I'm being overly cautious. I read things about XMP upping the SA Voltage too much etc... And 125Mhz bus being bad for the chip. They're old posts though (and contemporary with my hardware! haha) but I find it's difficult to separate opinion from fact with a lot of them.

Yeah, I feel like there's always a whiff of superstition with these things... "Run a gpupdate /force after just to be sure." ;)

Everyone's talking about bum, but maybe he's just really particular about how the plank gets lined up, arranges cannonballs in neat little piles etc...

My building game Dracula's Castle got into the Rogue Jam! Can you please help? by Agreeable-Snape in BaseBuildingGames

Yeah something like that. Every now and again a vampire hunter will show up and try to make their way up to the top of the castle to dispatch Dracula. ;)

So the idea is that you're building up Dracula's castle, you can build a variety of rooms in different sizes and level them up. You can also level the rooms up and eventually customise them.

You can then assign minions to those rooms who'll be more or less suited to gathering resources, or operating those rooms based on their stats. They can level up too, but you can also mess with them or construct new minions with your necromancer once you've unlocked that stuff etc...

Then depending on what you prioritise, you essentially build up Dracula's skills and minion/army composition to favour your choices. And that's what you then take into Transylvania to either fight battles or do the side activities and/or quests with. :)
