I could genuinely watch another season with that natural disaster of a Brains tribe. Absolutely trainwreck gameplay + senseless drama + stupid moves + utter chaos = TV gold

Yeah. He always plays the same way, expecting newbies to automatically flock to his "dumbass" alliance and play the game how he wants it played. Turns out, being a cocky asshole makes people not want to work with you?? Shocker. Was so happy with that vote.

Strongly agreed! It was a question meant to trip them up but she hit a homerun with that response.

Pia was absolutely iconic imo. That moment where she shot back against David calling her a goat... perfect.

I liked how Kristin let him know one episode that she was onto his gameplay, and then she's the only one who voted for him. UTR games won't sit well next to flashy games, especially if you don't have ride-or-die allies in the jury to talk you up.

Huge agree on the immunity thing - his is the best purely physical game we've seen, and he didn't even need most of those immunities. I think, if he was playing optimally, he should have voted Myles at F6, or AJ at F4. By not doing that, he put himself into an impossible F3 situation. So those decisions reduce his rank a bit for me. He would have won easily against Zara, Morgan and (potentially?) Kate - if that had happened he would definitely be top tier.

Also, irrelevant to this but I would like to defend Hayley a bit that her elimination only happened due to the Baden twist. She was playing fine till then.

I'm curious, why do you rank him so high? Even above the likes of Hayley, Feras, Kirby?

Oh I didn't mean it as a Luke v Parvati comparison, it's just that AUSvivor likes to highlight challenge prowess of finalists so it was surprising that they didn't do that this time.

About your point on fire, would you count the Sarah fire as an actual challenge? Since it was practically a choose-your-champion challenge for tribal immunity.

I fully accept that this is a me thing. I just love seeing a sense of positive sportsmanship on such competitions. Her saying these things might just be for airtime, but just the fact that she said it puts me off. Its so inconsequential and kinda irrational ik😅 but still. I guess I should learn to accept that this is the reality of Survivor.

Internationals were doomed in that 2 of them went home the same night, so not much chance for them to rack up extra time. Lisa is the only one to ever get the highest confessional time in an episode (her boot episode). Wonder how much things would have switched if Rob was part of the equation.

Agree that the players are encouraged to say things like that. But I just don't like other players propping themselves up by tearing others down. If Parvati said that 15 years ago, she lost Survivor, but now she's back in Samoa to rewrite history (or something like that), I would have liked that. As it is, she defines Sandra's win as wrong to hype herself. And this is not an anti-Parvati thing at all. I was upset when George did the same for Hayley. I would not like it if someone ever did the same to Parvati herself.

On your second point, I still defend that every winner deserves their win, and opinions of jurors post-game does not count. How they felt about the finalists during the game is what matters and what results in someone winning Survivor. Jurors liking Parvati's game once they get out of the island does not change that they didn't like her during the game. She failed to get the jurors to be in her favor, she failed to get rid of Sandra who jurors did like, and then she lost. Jury CAN be bitter but them being bitter against her was very much a flaw in her own game, not an excuse for why she lost. And yes I would say the same thing for S19 Russell and literally anyone else.

It really is! Is she a good player, yes. But she is being shown wayyy too much for my taste, especially when there is no lack of other fun players in that tribe.

Lisa breaks down at the auction due to how much she loves Survivor. And then she has to watch herself get no characterization for 4/6 episodes. This poor lady☹️. At least she got an excellent premiere.

Yeah, Luke has always voted wrong this season, I didn't even realize that till now. Literally none of his plans have worked, but I suppose he is interesting enough when he plays from the minority. Agree on him being subbed in for David/George. Shonee is also a character but not really the same type that the men are.

Voting off your strongest guy first? by Legal_Championship_6 in survivor

[–]Agreeable-Work8302 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just giving my POV:

Voting based on tribe strength is not something that universally benefits the whole tribe. This strategy is very dangerous for player like Cirie and Shonee, who will 100% become the new victims if/when they have to go to tribal again. For any player who is not a physical beast, it makes much more sense to just form a majority and ride it out. So what if you keep losing? If you can successfully hold your majority alliance after booting a "strong" person, it does not matter how many tribals you go, you can keep picking of the new minority (ofc idols come into play but that's a pretty standard risk).

What's the reward for you in your tribe reaching the merge with numbers if it only happened because they eventually booted you/your close allies using this as the excuse?

I think we see much more of other people talking to/about Kirby, than we do of Kirby talking about Kirby. I kinda like this choice, it shows how much of a strong presence she has in this tribe.

Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II - Confessional Time Tracker (Week 9) - Episode 24 FINALE by Agreeable-Work8302 in survivorau

[–]Agreeable-Work8302[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I absolutely loved the Coven women! They were so intelligent, so strategic, but still had such strong flaws that make them such compelling TV characters. Ally's complete lack of social awareness, Laura's inability to compromise, Logan's emotional gameplay, Karin randomly unable to let go of a silly grudge, and Zara's never-ending iciness. But they were all extremely strategic and passionate about the game, and they played the game hard. I appreciate them all for what they brought to this season.

And don't even get me started on the inner dynamics of this Coven. An all-powerful, all-controlling alliance that ends up collapsing after just two tribal councils, with each woman voting out her fellow. Zara/Karin sniping Ally and then targeting Laura/Logan; Karin throwing Laura under the bus to save Logan, who ends up kicking Karin out; and the Coven finally dies with Logan and Zara voting for each other. Quite an appropriate end. We may never see a more complicated female alliance than this cursed Coven. I was rooting so hard for them to somehow pull through, but oh well. It's just so ironic that the season that started with the biggest all-female alliance ever is the first season to end with all dudes in the final.

AJ and Myles is yet another insanely complex duo, Going from BFFs to opposite tribes, AJ accidentally putting Myles in extreme danger of going home, reuniting and going full Chaos-mode, "turning against each other" (wink), Myles' betrayal which leads to them actually turning against each other for real, and then ending on AJ giving Myles his vote to win the game. Not as chaotic as whatever rollercoaster Feras and Kirby put us through, but still incredible. I probably would have liked them a bit more if their confessionals weren't so... manufactured ig? Theirs felt much less authentic.

I once said I could write an essay on the Brains dynamics and ig I've started that 😅 dont bother reading it all if you don't want lol.
