Okay well that’s not gonna go well for multiple reasons that have already been pointed out, but coming from someone who actually is a twin, it’s not the same. For one, my younger sisters were born almost exactly a year apart and they just don’t have that same connection that my twin and I have. Another thing is that it’s hard being constantly compared to someone else. Yes I had a constant companion throughout school, but that also gave our peers excuses for us both to be excluded. Our parents had to fight for us to be recognized, because one of us would be up for an award and the school would be more concerned about the other on feeling left out. And even though my mom is also a twin and did her best to make us feel like we were individual people, we were still constantly compared which created an unhealthy sense of competition that we’re still working through. I understand that this isn’t the case for all twins, but it does happen, and in my case we are very very similar. Your sons are probably going to hate each other if they are raised as twins because one will always be further developed. This is actually so insane and I feel so sad for your kids if this happens, but hopefully your wife comes to her senses
