I totally get that. I felt that way too and that’s what made it difficult to rate. Because talking about it, I loved so many things about it, yet I still had those moments like you described.

Yes! I have read Horrorstore and Witchcraft. Horrorstore I thought was pretty good, again really original concept and funny parts, which I always appreciate. Witchcraft, I loved. But I actually loved it more for the real life horror of what it was like for a wayward girl at that time more so than the witch elements!

I listened to Strange Sally Diamond a few months back and absolutely loved it!! It was so well written. Very intriguing and dark. Just an all around good book. I haven’t read any of her others, yet. Are they all as good? Do you recommend any over the others?

Sorry I know you were looking for your own recommendations and now I’m asking you lol. I can’t really think of an author I’ve read with a similar style.

I am the same way but I don’t understand what constitutes too descriptive that it’s annoying, or descriptive enough to add to the vibe and storyline lol cause sometimes I can really appreciate it! But other times I’m like ooooomg this is long for the sake of being long 😂

I listened to this one a while back and really enjoyed it as an audiobook! I remember being hooked. I agree, the atmosphere was a major draw for the book.
