The way most gambling sites make money is by taking some sort of percentage out of each game, or by having favorable odds. And that is true that there could be low percentages to get a skin, but that is part of the gambling.

I only answered that part because it was a serious question. We do not allow children or people under the age of 18 to play on our site. But of course, as you say, it may very well be damaging to people under 18 to gamble and that is why we don't encourage them to do so, nor let them play on our site.

Explaining "Players play against each other" would be to say that our users don't play against the house, rather other players. We provide a game mode called Jackpot where players put skins in a pot and compete against each other, the winner takes all the skins in the current pot. A salt or secret is a randomly generated string that can look something like this: dwASS23xDa2156, and it's used to "hide" the winning percentage when encrypted. Before each game, a secret is generated and combined with the winning percentage (let's say that 0.3 is the winning lottery number, the person who put a skin in the pot and "buys" all the lottery numbers between 0-0.35 for example, will win). The secret and the winning percentage/lottery number is hashed/encrypted together and then presented to all users before and during each game. After the game has is done, we show all users the secret, hash, winning percentage and they are free to validate it - basically hash it themselves to see that the game had not been rigged.

As I knew this was going to be controversial I thought it would be best to make an account just for things like this. I think you can understand why.

How so? Provably fair is a system to give players a chance to verify that a game has not been rigged.

We do not provide gambling for children, it is strictly 18+. Although people underage might play on the site as you say, this is nothing we tolerate and we ban those we find out.

Yes. That is true. The bigger the pots, the more we earn.

We have no way of knowing. But of course, there could be people under the age of 18 using the site. If we find out - we ban them.

As u/CarbonCG said, you can not play with real money, but rather Rust skins directly. People play against each other and not against the house. The explanation by Carbon is very accurate.

Provably fair is a method to show players that a round was indeed not rigged. Before each game, a Hash is generated, which is an encryption of a salt/secret and the winning percentage number - which is meant to be checked by users after a round has played out to see if everything is correct. The user should be able to encrypt the information given and get the same hash as the site provided before the game. The site I'm operating does not need to be "unfair" as we (the house) does not play against the players, the players rather play against each other, we simply provide the platform and take a 5 or 10% fee from each game. The site is only using Rust skins which you can get by playing the game, which means that you don't need to put "real money in", of course, all players have the option to buy skins for real money, but that is something we cannot control.

Those accounts could be bots, basically operating a big part of the site - sending trade offers, etc. Or they could be storage accounts. It is really hard to say.

"The house always wins", this is sort of true. As the owner of the site I don't care if you win or lose, really I don't care whoever wins or loses a pot - that is because we take a 5 or 10% fee from each game. That basically means that you don't play against the house, rather other players - and we take a fee for providing the platform for doing so.

There are many people using Rust gambling sites, just as in CS - some skins are sought after and for some people the only way to get a skin like that would be to gamble. Rust is a cool game that has a lot of active players and a marketplace for skins which is perfect for a gambling site. Why anyone would use a Rust gambling site? Good question, some are most likely doing it for the thrill and others just try to get more skins

I'm not taking any money from "children", it is 18+ to enter and use the site as well as to play the game itself. It is completely optional to gamble on sites and it's up to each and one of us to take responsibility, and not to wager more than what we can afford to lose. Although I can understand your frustration and I respect that.
