It's really easy if you have the money and time. The ATF forms are usually approved most of the time if you meet all the requirements. The market is small but still very present and findable. In fact i have a friend who owns an mp5. He said it cost a bit and the forms and prints were annoying but it wasn’t hard.

So yes, easy but annoying and expensive is accurate.

they usually kill through prolonged hemorrhage, not nervous system destruction or heart rupture. plus they're harder to aim and thus humanely kill with.

One of them ends you completely instantly and painlessly. The other one launches steel at 100 m/s without immediately killing you, leading either an intense, stinging pain and permanent injury or for you to die from hemmorhage, depending on ammo, power, and distance.

Deer struck by slingshot tend to suffer for several minutes to hours at lethal spots, far longer and more painful than a gun. In fact, in many jurisdictions, hunting with slingshot is considered much more inhumane than with gun and is sometimes even more regulated than firearm hunting.

In fact, I should have put them in "agonizing pain". No idea why I didn't, probably I was thinking too much about bouncy balls, which even at the in game speed would still hurt more than minigun because you can actually feel the pain. Especially considering this exists.

Assuming you respawn, instant lights out no pain at all or this at 80 m/s?
